VILLAGE OF NICHOLS -- Board Meeting March 8, 2022 Call to Order: by President Terry Scheller at 6:30 p.m., with Trustees Kathy Krull, Jerry Krull, and Tom Daniels present. Trustee Brent Gerdts was absent. Also present: Michael Mayhew, Pam Mayhew, John Hager, Jodie Maki, Roger Ort and Linda Hoes. Agenda: Motion by Jerry/Kathy to approve the agenda, carried. Outagamie Cty. Police Report: no report Minutes: Motion by Tom/Jerry to approve the February 8, 2022 Regular Board Meeting minutes, carried. Treasurer’s Report: Motion by Kathy/Jerry to approve the Feb. 28th, carried. Bills to Approve: Motion by Tom/Terry to approve the bills on Village checks #18516–18535 and four electronic withdrawals and Water Utility checks #2594-#2596, carried. Black Creek Police / Municipal Court Reports:  Discussed progress of complaint on Pine St and on Piechocki Pl.  Clerk is to contact B.C. Police Dept. to follow-up on dog bite incident. Guests:  Storage Containers: John Hager brought in a photo of a new unit he would like to place in his back yard on a gravel bed. Terry stated the legal opinion obtained was opposed per Sec. 13-1-20(89). John stated others in the Village had storage units not on foundations. After much discussion and ordinance review, it was decided the ordinances should be updated for clarification on the issue. Motion by Kathy/Tom to approve request, carried.  Variance: Michael and Pam Mayhew presented plans for a new home to be built on their W5610 Fahrenkrug St property. They were requesting a variance for the northeast corner of the house which doesn’t meet the setback due to the proposed Railroad St. Motion by Kathy/Terry to approve the variance, carried. Water & Sewer Report (Roger):  Trees: The second dead tree in the C.C. Park has been cut down. Roger will replace the two trees with Red Maples. He will pick up another one for the east side of the ballfield which will be paid for by the Nichols Athletic Association.  Signs: The posts on two sign were broken. One is a railroad sign which has been replaced. The second is a sign on the south end of Krull Rd.  Road Estimates: Reviewed the MCC, Inc. estimates for Paige Ave, Ellen St, and Krull Rd. Unfinished Business:  USDA Grant: USDA approved the copier quote from WI Document Imaging (WDI). The Interim loan with CFCU is incomplete.  Aaron Gurney from WDI has a floor safe from the Briarton Cheese factory. The board approved purchasing the safe for $200 with leftover funds in the Centennial Outlay.  ARPA: Tabled.  Security Cameras: Tabled.  Comprehensive Plan: Tabled. New Business:  NAA 6-mo. Beer License: Tabled.  Open Book/Board of Review: The Open Book will be held on April 20th from 6 to 8 p.m. th The Board of Review with be held on April 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the Nichols Community Center, N9065 Krull Rd, Nichols, WI.
