VILLAGE OF NICHOLS -- Board Meeting July 12, 2022 -- REVISED Call to Order: by President Terry Scheller at 6:30 p.m., with Trustees Brent Gerdts, Tom Daniels, Kathy Krull, and Jerry Krull, present. Also present: Roger Ort and Linda Hoes. Agenda: Motion by Kathy/Brent to approve the Agenda, carried. Outagamie Cty. Police Report: none Minutes: Motion by Tom/Kathy to approve the June 14th Board Meeting minutes, carried. Treasurer’s Report: Motion by Kathy/Brent to approve the June Treasurer’s Report and bank statements, carried. Bills to Approve: Motion by Kathy/Brent to approve the bills/VISA charges, paid on Village checks #18626–18656 and five electronic withdrawals; and, Water Utility checks #2612-#2616, carried. Guests: (none) Black Creek Police Report: Reviewed the 2nd Quarter report. Water & Sewer Report (Roger):  Cutting grass/weeds: Motion by Terry/Kathy to change the hourly rate for cutting grass/ weeds from $50 per hour to $75 per hour effective immediately, carried.  Cell phone: Roger received the new phone.  Power Outage: The generator at the Sewer plant was used during June storm power outage. An application has been submitted for the FEMA Wisconsin Disaster Fund for reimbursement of expenses associated with running the generator.  Recycle Bin: The Village has 3 bins remaining. Ten will be ordered when an area municipality places an order.  Motion by Kathy/Terry to increase the Garbage rate from $33 per quarter to $36 per quarter retroactive to July 1, 2022 to help with the increased operating costs and the cost of replacing garbage and recycle bins, carried.  Trees: Concern with tree leaning at the Mark Reck property. Unfinished Business:  Star Communications: A letter was sent to Star Communications regarding the current contract. No response was received.  USDA Grant: Reviewed the construction timeline showing foundation work to begin this week. The interim loan funds are almost depleted. An email was sent to USDA for release of the grant funds.  Corporate Network Solutions: Reviewed costs received for IT work/equipment to setup the new Office and meeting room.  ARPA: No new information, tabled.  Security Cameras: No new information, tabled.  Comprehensive Plan: Tabled.  Storage Buildings & Containers: Tabled. New Business:  Operator’s license applications: Motion by Kathy/Jerry to approve the license for Desiree Dernsvek, carried.
