VILLAGE OF NICHOLS -- Board Meeting
July 9, 2024
Call to Order: by President Terry Scheller at 6:00 p.m., with Trustees Kathy Krull, Jerry Krull,
Rebecca Gottsacker, and Mark Simpson present. Also present were Roger Ort, Brianna Olson,
CPA KerberRose, Ken & Michelle Hewitt, Officer Noe and RoseMary Stingle.
Pledge: The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Outagamie County Police: Discussed complaints about fireworks and that the Sheriff’s
department can enforce under the noise ordinance.
Agenda: Motion by Mark/Rebecca to approve the agenda, carried.
Minutes: Nichols Athletics Jerry & Kathy abstained was not mentioned in draft. Terry seconded.
Motion by Kathy/Mark to approve the minutes of the June 11. Regular Meeting, carried.
Treasurer’s Report/Bank Statements: Consolidated Community First Credit Union bank for
water savings and water checking accounts for pooled cash which will be separated by
Workhorse program. Motion by Kathy/Mark, carried.
Bills to Approve/VISA statement: Motion by Kathy/Rebecca to approve the bills paid on Village
checks #19326 - #19348, carried.
Black Creek Police / Municipal Court Reports: (None received)
Water & Sewer Report (Roger):
Meters: 79 meters have been replaced with the new Badger meters.
Change the 1-inch meters.
Mobile home property owners’ responsibility to have access to the water meter and to correct
and rewrap any pipes unwrapped.
65 out of 77 valves properly work
USPS not getting the overnight testing delivered in time. Having to use Spee Dee delivery
KerberRose: Brianna Olson, CPA proposed a quote for their auditing services and what they offer.
At this time we are going to continue to use CLA accounting.
Unfinished Business:
Razing Order: Communicating with our lawyer to see what next step is to implement the
order.
New Business:
Whistle Inn, LLC requested permission to shut down part of Depot Street east of the Patten’s
property driveway to the tracks on July 14th for their 10-year anniversary celebration.
Motioned by Terry to approve, seconded by Jerry, carried.
Ken & Michelle Hewitt expressed their concern of the water draining from the parking lot
behind their property. Requesting that discussion takes place and finding a solution of the
responsibilities and actions of gravel being placed in the parking lot causing the water to flow
toward his garage and flooding it. Terry & Mark going to look at the property.
Adjourn: Motion to adjourn at 7:16 p.m. by Mark, Terry/Jerry, carried.
