CAUCUS – VILLAGE OF NICHOLS January 14, 2025 The Caucus was called to order at 6:00 p.m. President Terry Scheller nominated Kathy Krull to run the Caucus and seconded by Mark Simpson. Trustees Jerry Krull, Kathy Krull, Rebecca Gottsacker and Mark Simpson were present. Also present were Roger Ort, Julie Schwarz and RoseMary Stingle. Pledge of Allegiance: Recited Nomination was opened for the position of Village President currently held by Terry Scheller. Motion by Mark/Becky to nominate Terry Scheller. There being no further nominations for President, motion to close nominations for Village President by Kathy/Mark, carried. Nominations were opened for two Village Trustee positions currently held by Mark Simpson and Rebecca Gottsacker. Motion by Terry/Mark to nominate Julie Schwarz. Motion by Kathy/Jerry to nominate Rebecca Gottsacker Motion by Terry/Jerry to nominate Mark Simpson. . All three candidates were present when the order was drawn. There being no further Trustee nominations, motion to close the nominations by Kathy/Mark, carried. There being no further business, motion to adjourn the Caucus by Mark/Terry at 6:15 pm, carried. VILLAGE OF NICHOLS -- Board Meeting January 14, 2025 Call to Order: by President Terry Scheller at 6:15 p.m., with Trustees Mark Simpson, Jerry Krull, Rebecca Gottsacker, and Kathy Krull present. Also present were Roger Ort, Julie Schwarz and RoseMary Stingle. Agenda: Motion by Terry/Rebecca to approve the agenda, carried. Minutes: Motion by Kathy/Rebecca to approve the December 10, 2024, minutes, carried. Treasurer’s Report/Bank Statements: Motion by Becky/Jerry to approve, carried. Bills to Approve/VISA statement: Motion by Kathy/Becky to approve the bills paid on Village checks #19496–19525, carried. Black Creek Police / Municipal Court Reports:  Reviewed 4th quarter response summary which was none. Water & Sewer Report (Roger):  A water main leak was found and repaired at Main & Pine Street.  Passed 1st toxicity test, waiting to hear on the second one.  2 check valves were replaced at the sewage plant.  All new water meters are installed in the Village.  Roger will keep 3 meters in stock. Unfinished Business:  LRIP Project collecting information to get bids published  Fire Department Truck payment New Business:  Motion to hire new Village Lawyer, Ashley Lehocky by Mark/Becky, carried.  Motion to Close off Depot Street East of Pine Street Saturday, March 1, 2025, for outhouse races by Mark/Terry, carried.
