Greeneville Neighborhood Revitalization Committee

Greeneville NRZ February 5, 2024 Greeneville Fire House, 444 North Main St., Norwich, Ct. Call to order: 6:00 p.m. Attendees: Committee members-Peter Procko, Nancy Procko, Kathleen Strenkowski, Henry Fidrych. Members of the community-Thomas Yorz, Bill Buchert, Rev. Christopher Rogalski, Doug Thomson, Kim Langley. Guest-Evan Blum. Evan gave an update on the historic 1953 diner he wants to bring to Greeneville. Approval of Minutes: Motion made by Henry Fidrych and second by Thomas Yorz to accept the January 8, 2024 minutes. Motion voted on and passed. Old Business: Flower boxes-Letter sent to NCDC asking for funding for fourteen additional flower boxes and for the replacement of flowers for summer, fall and winter. State Advisory Board-Meeting date of April 18, 2024 at Foundry 66 in downtown Norwich. Event to be attended by NRZ committees from surrounding cities in Ct. Bus Shelters-SEAT has stated that they will provide four bus shelters in Greeneville. Capehart-Peter provided an update on the Capehart Mill property. New Business: Greeneville NRZ meeting and date change-Peter would like us to think about changing the monthly meeting from Monday to Wednesday. The reason being that Peter would like to attend Norwich City Council meetings on Monday nights. Meeting Attendance-John Mercier will send a letter of resignation as a voting member of the Greeneville NRZ to the City of Norwich. Board member applications can be found under Form Center at Norwich.Org. Open Forum: Discussion of new business needed in Greeneville. Appreciation Dinner for May or June Old Trolley Car-Obtain for display in Greeneville Greeneville Neighborhood Committee meetings-Noted that Kim Langley has been attending the meetings.
