Greeneville Neighborhood Revitalization Committee

Greeneville NRZ March 4, 2024 Greeneville Fire House, 444 North Main St., Norwich, Ct. Call to Order: 6:01 p.m. Attendees: Committee Members-Peter Procko, Nancy Procko, Kathleen Strenkowski. Members of the community: Thomas Yorz, Bill Buchert, Rene Gagnon, Gloria Riley-Gagnon, Rev. Christopher Rogalski. Approval of Minutes: Motion by Bill Buchert and second by Thomas Yorz to accept the February 5, 2024 minutes. Motion voted on and passed. Correspondence: Letter from John Mercier, resigning as a voting committee member. Old Business: Sidewalks-No new sidewalks scheduled for this year. Maybe next year. Hydrants/Utility box painting-This project scheduled to be done in April of this year. Artist/Mural-Mural is in the process of being designed. Planter funds-The NRZ is awaiting response for funding from NCDC. Divine Providence Church-Peter attended a meeting with city officials, fire marshall and church members to review installation of handicap access. Appreciation dinner at the church to be June 8, 2024. 250th Anniversary-There may be opportunities for the Greeneville NRZ to contribute or volunteer for activities during the city's celebration. New Business: Blight-Peter spoke with the Norwich Blight dept. regarding the building next to the skate shop on Central Ave. The building is to be demolished. Farmer's market (fruits and vegetables)-Possible community project. Peter to follow up on this. Thai by Thai-This is a new business in the neighborhood. Adopt a business-Purpose is to keep open communication between the NRZ and local businesses. Greeneville NRZ members could choose a business to stay in contact with.
