Greeneville Neighborhood Revitalization Committee

Greeneville NRZ September 4, 2024 Greeneville Fire House, 444 North Main St., Norwich, Ct. Call to Order: 6:03 p.m. Quorum: There is a quorum Attendees: Committee Members-Peter Procko, Nancy Procko, Kathleen Strenkowski, Thomas Yorz. Members of the community-Thomas Bonanno, Judy Post, Stephanie Gwozdz, Sylvia Laudette. Guest: Joseph DeLucia, Norwich City Council Member. Approval of Minutes: Motion made by Nancy Procko and second by Thomas Yorz to accept the August 7, 2024 minutes. Motion voted on and passed. Old Business: Playground: Permanent hopscotch painting to be done at the playground depicting words of inspiration. Swings: Letter has been sent from the NRZ to Mayor Peter Nystrom, Norwich Public Works and the Norwich City Council requesting that the swings be added back to the playground. Blight: Property blighted addresses have been sent to the Norwich Blight Dept. 2025 Events: One suggestion is to have American flags placed along Central Avenue in celebration of our country's 250th anniversary. Fire Hydrant Painting: Suggested that the theme be around the 250th anniversary. Greeneville in May Event dates to be determined at the October meeting. Strategic Plan: Reviewed Objective 1 and Objective 2 of the plan. Objective 3 and 4 to be reviewed at the October meeting. New Business: Historic diner: Owner is moving forward with the paperwork required. NRZ Norwich Representative: Craig Kleman will be the municipal representative for the Greeneville NRZ.
