Nyack Social. Application for signage Application presented by: Antonia Felciano Board discussion: Reviewed placement of proposed sign and existing signs in windows of establishment. Sign is not compliant because per code law, there should be overall sight plan for entire building including all storefronts. Manny Carmona informed us that he is currently in discussions with the property owner regarding the process of developing a sight plan. It was suggested with applicant that he (they) change application to a temporary sign with the same size and graphic layout, but instead use less expansive temporary material such as sign board. The temporary sign would be allowed in same location as proposed permanent sign. Applicant informed us there are existing mounting holes that can be used to fasten sign to façade. Applicant agreed less expensive temporary sign made sense pending outcome of sight plan with building owner, since sign may be required to change. It was also agreed that if applicant needs to reappear before board for revision, the same application fees could be applied. Since the application is changed to a temporary sign, there is no decision / ruling by ARB as temporary signs do not require approval of ARB. Public Comment: None No members of general public besides other applicants were present. Application presented by: Angel Mazariego Board discussion: Application includes covering existing dilapidated siding with insulation and vinyl siding on main structure. New window casing will be added to bring out to match new siding depth. Corner molding will be used to mate inside and outside corners. Soffits will be covered with new horizontal material, and trimmed to match new siding. Existing siding and trimwork in entryway with arched openings will be repaired and repainted and not covered with vinyl siding. In addition front staircase to be replaced. Per discussion, new staircase should be comprised of: stone stairs capped with bluestone or similar; sides of stairs should be tired stone, with stairstep following profile of step treads. Railing should have angled handrail following tiered side stonework with vertical posts and balusters. Public Comment: None No members of general public besides other applicants were present. Conclusion: Application approved as submitted with agreement to follow decision per above with tiered stepped down stone entryway, angled hand rail and vertical posts . Motion by member Healey, 2nd by member Steinhorst. Approved by 4-0 vote. Meeting adjourned = 7:20pm
