1. Call to Order
Don Crawford called the meeting to order. Members in attendance were Judy Wagner,
Nancy Diamond, Kristina Mayhew and Alexa Ochoa. Rosemary Morrison was excused.
Joel Servatius, City Council Ex-Officio Member, was also in attendance. City staff members
in attendance were Don Crawford, Sabrina Combs, Cac Kamak and Mick Monken. Jay
Cochran and Hal Hovey were also in attendance.
2. Approval of Minutes
There was not a quorum at the time of this item. Approval of minutes moved to the
December 13th meeting.
3. Public Comments
Hal Hovey thanked Parks staff for their enthusiasm and stated that he appreciates the crosswalk
on Beeksma Drive.
4. Unfinished Business
a. Election of Board Chair, Vice and Secretary
Don reviewed OHMC 2.30.060 which establishes the Park Board, and requires the
election of a Chair, Vice and Secretary.
MOTION: Moved by Judy Wagner, seconded by Nancy Diamond, the Park Board
unanimously approved to appoint Judy Wagner as Park Board Chair.
MOTION: Moved by Lexi Ochoa, seconded by Judy Wagner, the Park Board
unanimously approved to appoint Lexi Ochoa as Park Board Vice Chair.
MOTION: Moved by Kristina Mayhew, seconded by Judy Wagner, the Park Board
unanimously approved to appoint Kristina Mayhew as Park Board Secretary.

5. New Business
a. Grant Application - SEEK
Don explained that there is a grant available for funds to assist under privileged youth
to be able to attend sports programs. He is researching the demographics of youth
sports on the Island.
6. Announcements
a. Mick Monken, Interim Public Works Director, introduced himself to the board. He
discussed the vehicle closure occurring on SE 3rd Avenue. This was a safety concern
brought forward to the Police Department. The City solicited public comments. An
analysis was conducted and Mick stated that action was warranted. The next step
involved conducting a traffic study. The results showed possible locations available for
additional parking.
Don stated that the City has been receiving comments, specifically from those with
participants in the leagues. He expects to have a meeting with representatives from the
respective leagues to solicit comment and to help distribute information.
7. Adjournment
MOTION: Moved by Judy Wagner, seconded by Kristina Mayhew, the Park Board
unanimously approved adjournment of the meeting.
