Page 2 of 5  City of Ocean Shores Radio Board Meeting Minutes For Tuesday, April 23, 2024 At Ocean Shores Library, 573 Point Brown Ave. NW, Ocean Shores, WA 98569 Call to order: 10:30 am by Radio Board Secretary Marilyn Ferguson. Roll Call: Present – Darrell Prowse, Rosanna Santoro, Marilyn Ferguson and Patrick Wendlandt via Zoom. Approval of the April 23, 2024, agenda: MSP. Minutes for March 26, 2024, meeting: Approved. MSP. Public Comment: 2 members of the public in person and 1 via Zoom. No Public Comment. Reports: 1. Station Managers Reports Butch Larson – CBS News installed and running on a regular basis. Will be working on removing a commercial that follows the CBS news and until then training DJ’s on how to cut it off before the commercial starts. The new phone interface has been installed and is working well. Sent out invitations to the City Council inviting them to come on air and speak. A new DJ Dan S. who was previously with KOSW has returned and will be added to the station once he passes background checks and finishes training. 2. Technology Report by Marty Hadfield – No report. 3. Board Member Reports: • Marty Hadfield: No report. • Darrell Prowse: Attended the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas. There were 1700 exhibitors with a lot of new stuff. Stopped at the Comrex desk and they had 1. Approval of minutes for the Regular City of Ocean Shores Radio Board ... Page 3 of 5  nothing new. The remote device they are using is still the same one that the station is using so it’s still state of the art. • Rosanne Santoro: No report. • Marilyn Ferguson: Asked Butch if he could give DJ Ricky B a reminder to give the KOSW radio website as KOSWradio.com instead of KOSradio.com. • Patrick Wendlandt: Went by the station and met with Butch and was able to look around. Also met with Marty and received an overview of the schematics of how things are laid out from the station to the tower. 4. Financial Report: Submitted as a handout by Sara Logan. 5. Council Liaison Report by Denise Siers – Thanked Butch for sending out the invitations inviting the council members to come on the radio. Also said that NBIM or the radio station are welcome to attend the council meetings and submit a report about funding or they can give it to her, and she will give the report to the council on their behalf.
