. City of Margaret April 7, 2020 6:00 P.M. In attendance: Councilman Perry, Councilman Chapman, Councilman Carter, Councilman Ray, Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre, and Mayor Howard, Prayer: Mr. Barker Mayor Howard called Meeting to order Discussion Mayor Howard asked for approval of minutes for March 30 2020 meeting. Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre made the Motion to approve minutes for March 30, 2020. Councilman Perry seconded the Motion. Motion passed unanimously. Councilman Chapman arrives to meeting 6:10PM The City’s Auditor David Cork addressed the Council pertaining to the financials. Mr. Cork stated that Public Works and the City did very good. City had a bottom line of $363,158.00 and Public Works had a bottom line of $106,575.00. Mr. Cork also stated that it has been a pleasure to work with Teja Peeples and Amanda. Councilman Perry made the Motion to accepted the financials as provided by David Cork of Cork, Hill, and Associates. Councilman Ray the Motion. Motion passes unanimously. Mr. Barker updated the Council about the piping in Moonlite Dr. Mr. Barker has already received permission from the owner of the yard that will be affected during the repair work. Mr. Barker informed the Council that the developer used different size pipes to do the project and that is the reason for the collapse of the road located on Moonlite Dr. Video Industrial Services can fix Moonlite Dr. by using a 36’ pipe, and using a mixture of cement and fiberglass to fill the 36’ pipe. The cost of the repair will be $28,000.00. Councilman Perry would like to know whether the work is guaranteed? Mr. Barker informed the Councilman Perry that most of the work will be done on the City’s right away. Council asked Mr. Barker to check on the on a warranty. Mr. Barker feels confident that Moonlite Dr. can be repaired if David can reach it. Because the pipe looks as though it goes to the end of the asphalt. Mr. Barker presented the Council with bids for South Hillcrest and Magnolia: 1). Big’s John for $153,598.50 for South Hillcrest 1.5 “thickness 2). Campbell’s Paving, Asphalt and Concrete $153556.00 South Hillcrest 2” thickness. 3). Massey Asphalt Paving LLC $153,876.00 south Hillcrest 2” thickness 4). McCarthy Construction dba Vulcan Materials $168,834.26 for Hillcrest and Magnolia 2” thickness. Councilman Perry made the Motion to award contract to McCarthy Construction under County Contract to fix South Hillcrest and Magnolia before May 1, 2020 because May is the start of the busiest season. Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre seconded the Motion. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor Howard will also look into knocking down shoulder on South Hillcrest close to Pine Springs to prevent water from standing on the road. Mayor Howard informed the Council that the new Tahoe for Police is in need of a light package. Councilman Ray made the Motion to purchase the light package for the Police vehicle for the amount of $8945.00. Council talked about contacting ABC Wrecker driver about not parking at his house because, the wrecker is tearing up the road. Councilman Ray he has personally talked to wrecker driver and stated that ABC Wrecker driver is nice, we should not have problem address the issue of parking his Mayor asked for anymore comments: Councilman Chapman- nothing Councilman Ray – nothing Councilman Carter nothing. Mayor Pro-Tem McIntyre – nothing Councilman Perry- nothing Councilman Chapman made the Motion to adjourn. Councilman Carter seconded the Motion. Motion passed unanimously.
