In attendance: Councilman James Chapman, Councilman Matthew Tortorice,
Councilman Jonathan Ray, and Mayor Pro-Tem Daryl McIntyre
Absent: Mayor Isaac Howard and Councilman Darius Crump

The meeting was called to order
Discussion:
Councilman Matthew Tortorice moved to hold a public hearing
concerning the redistricting. Councilman Jonathan Ray seconded the
Motion. The Motion failed due to lack of majority, with two yeses and
two noes.
Mr. Beverly would like to withdraw his proposal concerning economic
development for future consideration.
Councilman Jonathan Ray moved to table the permit increase discussion.
Councilman James Chapman seconded the Motion. The Motion passed
unanimously.
The Council received a letter concerning the acceptance of Lakeside Dr.
from an attorney representing Brookhaven Development Ventures.
Councilman Jonathan Ray made the Motion to accept Lakeside Dr. and
require a $300,000.00 road bond for future housing development on
Lakeside Dr.
Councilman Jonathan Ray rescinded his motion.
Council Jonathan Ray moved to accept Lakeside Dr., have a road analysis
done on Lakeside Dr. before the remaining seven lots are developed, and
have something signed stating that the road will be repaired if any damage
is done. Councilman James Chapman seconded the Motion. The Motion
passed unanimously.
Councilman James Chapman moved to allow Attaway Tree Service to
cut down the tree on Ronnie St. for the quoted amount of $2050.00.
Mayor Pro-Tem Daryl McIntyre seconded the Motion. The Motion
passed unanimously.
Old Acton was tabled because Trussville Utilities is supposed to work on
it.
The sewer department truck has been tabled because the potential sewer
operator is no longer interested in the job.
Chief Field presented the Council with his department numbers.
Councilman Jonathan Ray moved to allow Chief Fields to purchase tasers
for the quoted amount of $6529.00. Councilman Matthew Tortorice
seconded the Motion. The Motion passed unanimously.
Councilman Jonathan Ray moved to give Chief Fields a five percent
raise, to be paid retroactively when the other employees were given a five
percent increase. Councilman Matthew Tortorice seconded the Motion,
which passed unanimously.
Councilman Jonathan Ray moved to allow Chief Fields an amount not to
exceed $3000.00. Councilman James Chapman seconded the Motion. The
Motion passed unanimously.
Councilman James Chapman moved to approve council meeting minutes
from 4-9-2024. Mayor Pro-Tem Daryl McIntyre seconded the Motion. The
Motion passed with three yeses and one no.
Councilman James Chapman moved to approve council meeting minutes
from 4-16-2024. Mayor Pro-Tem Daryl McIntyre seconded the Motion.
The Motion passes with three yeses and one no.
Mayor Pro-Tem asked for any more comments:
Councilman Chapman had no comments.
Councilman Matthew Tortorice presented the first reading of a resolution
regarding a comprehensive plan from the RPCGB and then called for a
Motion to approve it.
Councilman Jonathan Ray requested that the Sewer Operators present the
sewer report to the Council.
Councilman Jonathan Ray discussed treating all employees fairly and the
same way.
Councilman James Chapman made a Motion to adjourn. Councilman
Jonathan Ray seconded the Motion.
The meeting adjourned at 6:58 PM.
