General Code Review Committee Meeting Minutes Tuesday, June 27th, 2023, 7pm Town Hall, Ogden Dunes Member Present Member Present Jim Slawinski, Chair, 2026 x Dick Meister, 2024 x Ken Thompson, Sec, 2024 x Bob Schwartz, 2026 x David Hollar. 2025 x Scott Kingan, TC Member Mike Shaefer, 2025 x Vacant, TC Member Richard Hassan, 2026 x • Meeting called to order at 7:10p • Approval of Minutes from The May 22nd GCR Meeting - by unanimous consent • We discussed the possibility of one TC Liaison vs. the current two. We agreed that one might be sufficient. Jim will pass that along to Scott Kingan. • Update on ordinance # 838 (Refuse Containers) Residential Contacts/Enforcement. This has been passed along to Town Council. • TC President Request to review current ordinance involving “chickens.” We reviewed and discussed and would conclude the discussion at the next meeting. • TC President Request to review ordinance (if any) involving miscellaneous items left on the beach overnight. We formulated a plan that clear the beach of items on a Wednesday giving notices for people notice of such. We did not yet consider who would be involved in the Wednesday sweep or where would the items be stored, thinking probably the street department might be in charge or a volunteer group. • Town Marshal / Building Commissioner request to review ordinance (if any) involving building maintenance and upkeep. There is an ordinance on this item. We did not conclude whether the ordinance needed work or enforcement. • Town Marshal / Building Commissioner request to review ordinance (if any) involving lawn upkeep. After discussion a proposed ordinance was crafted by the committee an Ken T was to put the proposed wording and forwarded to Jim S. for submission to Town Council. • Revision (if required) involving the form currently used for recommending new ordinance or revision to existing ordinance to the Town Council. We decided some minor revision is all that was needed to delete of duplicate language. • Procedure for simply making comments and/or recommendations to the Town Council involving existing ordinances currently under review by the GCR Committee. In the past, a simple note or minutes would be passed along to the Town Council with some additional notations is needed.
