Virtual Zoom Meeting
• Welcome and Call to Order – Susan Campbell
• Approval of November minutes.
Motion to approve – Jan and Todd
• New Committee Members-Lorie and Susan
• The top five were named and a discussion was held on how many people to move
forward with. Lorie also went over the terms left for each committee member.
• Instead of doing an interview a possible discussion with each new member can be had
instead or an email of what is expected.
• A motion for the top four, Tawna Halbert, Kseniya Thomas, Deann Armes and Leon
Arajuo were voted on and passed to move forward in the next step. Lorie will contact each one by
email to see if they would like to accept so it can be brought to the City Council and
Administration for approval.
• Arts Master Plan – Jake McIntire
• Jake went over the Air Table spreadsheet about the list of items that were discussed about
the Masterplan. There were 48 strategies, 19 items in progress, 8 of concern and 2 in question
with 10 as ongoing.
• The items of concern were discussed by the committee and gone through in detail.
1.4.1 Ensure Ogden City Arts (OCA) is included in all major projects carried out by the
city. (Hire a Public Art Coordinator to work on these items/ an Arts Advocate to be in contact
with City Council/Planning Commission.)
1.4.3 Utilize OCAAC & local creative professionals as a resource to collab on city
initiatives.
2.1.2 Encourage applicants from diverse populations to OCA programs & opportunities.
2.2.1 Increase communication channels between Ogden Arts and diverse groups (Gina
has brought up about the arts for MWC.)
2.2.2 Encourage increased education opportunities for the public
2.3.2 Organize & carry out a quarterly Arts Summit (speak with ODA about moving
forward with this in the Nine Rails mtgs.)
3.2.3 Encourage cross-curricular education that incorporates an arts element at multiple
grade levels. (position for the School District/ Abe reached out to HS./ VO had a field trip for a
class to come to see the arts in Ogden)
4.3.2 Develop a strong and cohesive marketing strategy and budget for Ogden City Arts
(Be able to market stuff on billboards, sponsorships, ads for people in other cities to see.)
• Jake and Susan will be presenting to City Council about the Master Plan. Lorie will let
everyone know when it will happen so they can help support.
