MEETING MINUTES Ogden City Arts Advisory Committee Regular Meeting 2549 Washington Blvd. Room 310 Ogden, UT 84401 801-629-8718 In Attendance: Jake McIntire, Susan Campbell, Shane Osguthorpe, Franco Cirilo, Todd Oberndorfer, Jessica McCowin, Camille Washington, Scott Patria, Cam McLeod Excused: Franco Cirilo Absent: Jan Hamer, Brandon Long Staff Present: Lorie Buckley, Regina Esparza, Derek Williamson Tuesday, January 11, 2022 –8:30 A.M. Virtual Zoom Meeting • Welcome and Call to Order – Susan Campbell • Approval of December minutes: Motion to approve – Camille/ Cam • End of Year Updates: Dumke, MA • Lorie went over the updates for the Dumke Plaza. Hogan will start the waterline in March and the permit is coming along for the Ogden Ave extension. • Lorie asked for suggestions for the Mayor’s Awards and the consensus was that it went smooth and looked awesome. It was suggested that the videos could be a bit shorter or the intro less info. Possible restructure of the MA to have less honorees and more mingling since as soon as the awards ends everyone leaves. • Jessica did a great job as the MC. • New Committee Members-Lorie • Lorie sent the memo to the mayor and is waiting for approval. • Tawna Halbert declined to accept the position due to her job status changing and not enough time to help. It was brought up to ask Joe Blake if he is still interested since a dance chair is needed. • A folk chair is also needed, and Stephanie Howerton was brought up in the conversation to see if she would be interested in holding that position. • Lorie will be contacting Joe and Stephanie to see if they are interested and proceed from there. • Ogden Arts Grants – workshops/updates – Lorie, Susan • The grant workshops are tomorrow at noon and 6 p.m. on zoom for anyone that has questions regarding the process. • There is a quick turnaround with deadline ending February 11th. • Marshall White Center – Camille Washington  • She spoke about the Town Hall on December 4th and suggested a letter be made that could say that the OCAAC is willing to help support in public art plans for the new facility. • A temporary mural at the current location was suggested and Susan said she would join the next MW Advisory Meeting to mention it. There is $5k in funding available for shorter term project that would need approval only from the mayor. • Arts Master Plan – Lorie • Lorie let the committee know that Susan and Jake would need to present to city council by June about the updates to the arts master plan. • Sub-Committee - Susan • Susan let everyone know when all the sub-committees meet in case anyone wanted to join in the future meetings. • Information regarding new committee members would be updated in time for the next group of people joining. • Any new ideas for the next serious of Community Art Shows was discussed. Please email Lorie with any new ideas. Anime, design art and tattoos were a few mentioned. • Deadline for the poet laureate is next Friday if there are any recommendations they can be submitted online. • Public Questions & Attendance - • Jeremy Shinoda – Ogden City Diversity Committee • Thanked everyone for all their work and efforts. • Adjourn • Motion to Adjourn – Scott • 2nd – Shane • 10:00 a.m. – meeting adjourned.
