Zoom Meeting Welcome and Call to Order – Camille Washington, Chair Meeting to order 8:33am. • Approval of April Minutes • Motion to approve – Jan Hamer • 2nd motion – Jo Blake • FY 2025 Arts Grants Update – Lorie Buckley • May 21 - Recommendations to be presented at City Council Work Session o Public session presentation estimated to be held two weeks following • FY2024 Arts Grants final reports due June 30 • Preparations underway for the FY2026 grant cycle • Marshall White Center Public Art Update – Lorie Buckley • Project artists selected and approved by Mayor o Interior Artist | LaToya Peoples o Exterior Artist | Damon Reed • Both artists will conduct public input sessions; details forthcoming • Artist contracting is underway • Discussed opportunities for future public art within the facility • Poet Laureate Term Renewal – Lorie Buckley • Mayor has approved Angelika Brewer for a second term as Poet Laureate o Contracting process underway • Brewer’s latest project is poems hidden throughout the city  • Reviewed process timing for next Poet Laureate cycle. • OCAAC Vice Chair Nominations – Lorie Buckley • Reviewed nominations: o Leon Araujo o Joel Kitamura • Committee voted on FY2025 Vice Chair position o Leon Araujo elected Vice Chair • OCAAC Member Nominations – Lorie Buckley • Reviewed active Committee members rotating off or stepping down from OCAAC • Discussed Committee seat vacancies, as well as strategies and processes for filling available seats • Committee unanimously approved to transition Deann Armes from serving At Large to the Media Arts seat at the start of the fiscal year. • Ogden City General Plan Committee Update – Deann Armes • Deann Armes to represent OCAAC on this Committee o Discussed the voice Armes will bring to this City Committee • First meeting to be held on Thursday, May 16 • Upcoming Events – Lorie Buckley • May 10-11 | Union Station Heritage Festival o Annual event with performances, food and vendors • May 16 | Ogden Twilight presents Phoenix o First concert of the season • May 18 | Ogden Marathon o Shared volunteer opportunities • May 31 | Dumke Arts Plaza exhibit opening “A Dream That Comes in Color” by Megan Geckler o Discussed volunteer opportunities o Shared tentative exhibition opening dates • May 31 | Union Station Cornerstone Event o Free public event will include the unveiling of the building’s time capsule • Sub-Committees: • Executive – Camille Washington o Discussed Marshall White Center artists and possibility of an artist summit • Ogden CAN – Camille Washington o Most recent meeting included information on Mt. Ogden Junior High School’s summer tutoring program and housing advocacy in the Nine Rails Creative District • Nine Rails Creative District – Leon Araujo o June 21- first Brown Bag Brigade to be held in Lester Park  Intend for this to be a monthly event o Intend to print boarder defining stickers for the Nine Rails Creative District • Literary – Jan Hamer o Discussed marketing strategies for Angelika Brewer’s hidden poems • Arts Grants – Shane Osguthorpe o Recently held meeting to revise application language o Encouraged attendance to City Council Arts Grants meeting • Public Art – Jake McIntire o Encouraged participation in the Public Art Subcommittee o Encouraged revisiting the establishment of a public art community advisory committee o Utility Box Art Call will be re-released in the near future  Discussed utility box locations and art work review process.  o Keisel Avenue project is still waiting on grant funding decision. • Committee Member Updates • Deann Armes to attend City Diversity commission meetings. • The Banyan Collective welcomed Mayor Nadolski onto their podcast • Salt Lake City Living Traditions Festival to be held this weekend • Public Questions & Attendance • Attendance: Linda Lartigue, Heath Satow Adjourn There being no further business to come before the Committee, Committee member Jan Hamer moved the meeting adjourn. Motion was seconded by Committee members Joel Kitamura and Todd Oberndorfer, all voting aye.
