In-person and Zoom Meeting Welcome and Call to Order – Camille Washington, Chair • Approval of May Minutes • Motion to approve – Shane Osguthorpe • 2nd motion – Jan Hamer • FY 2025 Arts Grants Update – Lorie Buckley • July 16th | City Council Work Session recommendation presentation • August 6th | City Council Public Session recommendation presentation • Reviewed FY 2025 Arts Grants contract edits requested by City administration and City legal council. o Objects and debates clause that cites City funding may not be used for programs/projects deemed “inappropriate for audiences of all ages” citing restricts on freedom of speech and government sponsorship. 1. Considers which other City programs have similar language in contracts. 2. Considers grantee impact and risk. 3. Considers process and factors for City to rescind grant funding. o Notes that City requested contract edits were not included in the published grant guidelines, nor were they a review criteria. • City administration cited canceling the FY 2025 arts grants if the above language is not adopted into the contracts. • Committee to put forth amendments to contract language and will negotiate revisions with City administration for the FY 2026 arts grants cycle. • Reviewed state legislation requiring edits to FY2026 grant guidelines to remove and edit diversity, equity, and inclusion language. • Marshall White Center Public Art Update – Lorie Buckley • Artist Damon Reed has been contracted. o July 19-22 | Reed will visit Ogden for public engagement sessions. • Artist LaToya Peoples’ project contract is in the final stages. o Week of June 24th | Peoples will visit Ogden for public engagement sessions  Expects to return again in September • Subcommittee will convene next week to discuss the design process with the artists. • Utility Box Art Call Update – Lorie Buckley • Call expected to be released in July. • Reviewed locations of boxes to be wrapped. o New locations include the Dumke Arts Plaza and Ogden Avenue. • Public Art Subcommittee will oversee the review and selection process. • 2024 Mayor’s Awards in the Arts – Lorie Buckley o Accepting nominations online.  Deadline: August 9th o 2024 Mayor’s Awards in the Arts will be held November 7th at Union Station’s Browning Theatre. • OCAAC Member Elections – April Gruber • Reviewed four candidates nominated for Committee service. • Conducted election to identify two members who will fill vacant At-Large seats. o Susan Snyder and Eric Holmes elected by majority vote to serve on the Committee.  Ballot Results Motion – Jan Hamer  2nd – R. Brandon Long  All voting aye • Ogden City General Plan Committee Update – Deann Armes • No updates at this time. • Sub-Committees: • Executive – Camille Washington o Reviewed Executive Committee leadership transition that will occur in July.  Chair Camille Washington will move to the Past Chair seat  Vice Chair Deann Armes will move to the Chair position  Leon Araujo will move into the Vice Chair role • Ogden CAN – Camille Washington o Recaps intern project presentations shared at last Ogden CAN meeting. • Nine Rails Creative District – Leon Araujo o 9R Boundary Stickers  Reviewed sticker locations and project budget. o June 21- first Brown Bag Brigade to be held in Lester Park  Anticipate this event to be held monthly. • Literary – Jan Hamer o Subcommittee seeking additional members. • Arts Grants – Shane Osguthorpe o Received $50,000 EDA grant to support an economic impact study on the arts and culture.  A steering committee will be formed to support this work. • Public Art – Jake McIntire • Committee Member Updates  o Gratitude expressed to members rotating of the Committee and to Chair for her service. o Reviewed term rotations. • Public Questions & Attendance • Attendance: Linda Lartigue, Siera Green Adjourn There being no further business to come before the Committee, Committee member Cam McLeod moved the meeting adjourn. Motion was seconded by Committee members R. Brandon Long all voting aye.
