In-person and Zoom Meeting Welcome and Call to Order – Deann Armes, Chair • Called to order at 8:33am • Approval of July Minutes • Motion to approve – Shane Osguthorpe • 2nd motion – Camille Washington • FY 2025 Arts Grants Update – Lorie Buckley • City Council approved FY 2025 Arts Grants recommendations on August 6th. • City Administration provided an overview of FY 2025 grantee contract revisions, cited rationale and sources for those amendments, as well as defined select contract terms. o Invited input from those on call. 1. Discussed role of political and editorial content in publications when City grant funding is received. o Committee will develop a process to mitigate any arts grants programming complaints received. o Reviewed timeline for contract language revisions and process for updating contracts issued for current grant cycle. o A review of the FY 2026 arts grants guidelines and application will be conducted. • Marshall White Center Public Art Update – Lorie Buckley • August 6th - Marshall White Center research meeting was held with LaToya Peoples, Sarah Langsdon of Weber State University, and Hope Eggett of Ogden City’s Union Sation to review project relevant historical materials. • Artists first draft designs are due late September.  o Will be shared with Committee for review. • Utility Box Art Call Update – Lorie Buckley • Acquiring one additional printing bid before process can move forward. o Following receipt, this art call will be re-released. • 2024 Mayor’s Awards in the Arts – Lorie Buckley • Reviewed ballot results. • Unanimously ratified voting of the 2024 Mayor’s Awards in the Arts honorees as follows: o Arts Advocacy | Andrew Watson o Emerging Artist | Van Williamson o Folk Art | Mike Hurst o Lifetime Contribution | Onstage Ogden o Performing Arts | Sammy Brue o Visual Art | Chris Bodily • Ogden City General Plan Committee Update – Deann Armes • Next meeting – Friday, August 16, 2024 at 4:30pm o Leon Araujo to attend on behalf of Deann Armes. • FY 2025 OCAAC Meeting Schedule – Deann Armes • Committee to host semiannual meetings in December and June in the Wattis Dumke Room at Union Station. • All other meetings will be hybrid with the anchor location as the Ogden City Arts offices. • Sub-Committees: • Executive – Deann Armes • Ogden CAN – Camille Washington o Partnership update  Conversations on a placemaking partnership will begin soon.  Future partnership opportunities may exist with the Matthew S. Browning Center at WSU. • Nine Rails Creative District – Leon Araujo o District boundary sticker details received from vendors.  Next step - information to be shared with City Engineering. o Friday, August 16 at 12pm - Brown Bag Brigade to be held at Ogden Amphitheatre Park near playground. • Literary – Jan Hamer o Angelika Brewer, Ogden City Poet Laureate, received a $50,000 fellowship from the Academy of American Poets. • Arts Grants – Shane Osguthorpe o EDA grant received for the Keisel Art Project.  Cable engineering to move forward. • Public Art – Jake McIntire • Committee Member Updates • Public Questions & Attendance • Attendance: Patrick Ramsay, Macy Lipkin, Amy Wicks, Kye Hallows, Linsey Kunzler, Lisa Hallows, Taylor Knuth, Alicia Washington, Lindsay Huss Adjourn There being no further business to come before the Committee, Committee member Shane Osguthorpe moved the meeting adjourn. Motion was seconded by Committee member Todd Oberndorfer all voting aye.
