In-person and Zoom Meeting Welcome and Call to Order – Deann Armes, Chair • Approval of August Minutes • Motion to approve – Todd Oberndorfer • 2nd motion – Stephanie Howerton • Ogden City General Plan - Brandon Rypien • Reviews the process and development of Ogden City’s General Plan including its vision, growth, and opportunities for art. • Invites involvement of the OCAAC in the process. • October 23rd at 5:30pm at Union Station – Public input session. • FY 2025 Arts Grants Update – Lorie Buckley • Thursday, September 12 at 10am – Arts Grants Subcommittee meeting to review FY 2026 guidelines, application, and contract. o Considers receiving grantee feedback. • Anticipated timeline for FY 2026 grant cycle: o November 1 – Applications open o December 13 – Application deadline • Discussed ordinance changes to funding distribution, as well as language to prevent grantee contract changes post application submission. • Marshall White Center Public Art Update – Lorie Buckley • First design drafts due early October.  • Discussed schedule of design process through installation. • Utility Box Art Call Update – Lorie Buckley • Necessary bids collected and final questions being asked of printing companies. • Anticipate artist call going live in the next few weeks. • 2024 Mayor’s Awards in the Arts – Lorie Buckley • Honorees accepted nomination and have been approved by Mayor. • Event to be held November 7 at 6:30pm in Union Station’s Browning Theater. • Recognition of service • Susan Campbell announces OCAAC resignation. • Sub-Committees: • Executive – Deann Armes o Anticipates reviewing the Arts and Culture Master Plan during future meetings. • Ogden CAN – Leon Araujo o Discussed the Dumke Arts Plaza project and associated research.  Considered ways the City can support these efforts. • Nine Rails Creative District – Leon Araujo o Conveyed City Engineering concerns over stamped sidewalk poetry concept.  Discussed other U.S. cities where this concept has been successfully implemented.  Considered alternative methods to concrete stamping. o September 20th at 12pm - Brown Bag Lunch Brigade at The Corner • Public Art – Jake McIntire o Participating in Public Art webinar presented by Forecast o Engineering firm is need to re-engineer cabling for Kiesel Avenue project. o Meeting with WonderBlock management company about programming 3-D LED screens.  Exploring other options to enhance location. • Literary – Jan Hamer o Subcommittee is available to vet stamped poetry submission when project advances. o Discussed upcoming literary events. • Arts Grants – Shane Osguthorpe o Recapped Kiesel Avenue project and Subcommittee’s September 12th meeting. • Committee Member Updates • Discussed upcoming Committee member events and July 2025 First Friday Art Stroll. • Public Questions & Attendance • Attendance: Annmarie Wickham, Cindi Hron, Trina Wilks Adjourn There being no further business to come before the Committee, Committee member Jan Hamer moved the meeting adjourn at 9:48 a.m. Motion was seconded by Committee member Camille Washington, all voting aye. _______________________________________ April Gruber Ogden City APPROVED: OCTOBER 8, 2024 NEXT REGULAR OGDEN CITY ARTS COMMITTEE MEETING October 8, 2024 HISTORIC UNION STATION
