BUSINESS ITEMS 2.A 23-0468 Olympia Downtown Alliance Downtown Improvement District Process Briefing Economic Development Director Mike Reid gave an overview of the topic and considerations for the presentation. He discussed the Downtown vision, retail priorities and strategies from the Olympia Downtown Strategy and said Downtown is evolving and growing by a significant number of residents. Downtown Improvement District Steering Committee Co-Chair Ron Thomas introduced the topic of the Downtown Improvement District (DID). Olympia Downtown Alliance Executive Director Todd Cutts shared key indicators from a recent survey regarding the state of Downtown. He shared the background; process and timeline; operation plan and leveraging of existing resources in relation to the proposed DID. Councilmembers asked clarifying questions.
