CALL TO ORDER Chair Huỳnh called the meeting to order at 5:31 p.m. 2. ROLL CALL Present: 3 - Chair Yến Huỳnh, Committee member Dontae Payne and Committee member Cheryl Selby 3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT - None 5. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 5.A 23-0674 Approval of July 26, 2023 Community Livability and Public Safety Committee Meeting Minutes The minutes were approved. 6. COMMITTEE BUSINESS 6.A 23-0725 Key to the City Process and Procedure Assistant to the City Manager Susan Grisham presented an overview of the suggested Key to the City process and procedures. The Committee asked clarifying questions and recommended that the topic be added to the annual Council retreat for further discussion. The discussion was completed. 6.B 23-0713 Grass Lake Nature Park Public Art Project Opportunity Recommendation Arts Program & Planning Supervisor Stephanie Johnson, Parks Planning & Design Manager Laura Keehan and Olympia Arts Commission Chair Jim Burlingame presented the Grass Lake Nature Park public art project recommendation. The Committee asked City of Olympia Page 1 Community Livability and Public Meeting Minutes August 23, 2023 Safety Committee clarifying questions. Committee member Selby moved, seconded by Committee member Payne, to approve the recommended mid-year addition to the Arts Commission Work Plan and Municipal Art Plan of a public art project at Grass Lake Nature Park and forward to the full City Council for approval. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 3 - Chair Huỳnh, Committee member Payne and Committee member Selby 6.C 23-0724 2024 Advisory Committee Recruitment Process Overview Strategic Communications Director Kellie Purce Braseth provided an overview on the 2024 Advisory Committee Recruitment Process. The Committee asked clarifying questions. The current vacancy on the Design Review board was discussed. Ms. Purce Braseth provided information on Angela Rush, a previous Design Review board member, and recommended that Angela Rush be appointed to fill the current vacancy. Committee member Payne moved, seconded by Chair Huỳnh, to forward the recommendation that Angela Rush be appointed to the Design Review Board to the full City Council for approval. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 3 - Chair Huỳnh, Committee member Payne and Committee member Selby 7. REPORTS AND UPDATES - None 8.
