CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL Present: 8 - Chair Thomas Carver, Vice Chair Jane Laclergue, Boardmember Duane Edwards, Boardmember Robert Findlay, Boardmember David Goularte, Boardmember Jami Heinricher, Boardmember Joseph S LaValle, and Boardmember Angela Rush Excused: 1 - Boardmember Darrell Hoppe 2. SPECIAL TOPIC PRESENTATION 2.A 14-0073 Comprehensive Plan Update The meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM. Planning staff introduced aspects of the Comprehensive Plan Update effort, initiated in 2007, to the Design Review Board. Staff highlighted changes to the current Plan that would have an impact on development projects the Board would consider in the future. There was a question and answer period, and the discussion moved to the next topic: the Action Plan. The report was received. 2.B 14-0074 Action Plan CPD Planning Staff shared the City Council's proposal for implementing and monitoring projects and programs (actions) that result from the Comprehensive Plan Update - a companion document known as the Action Plan. Staff discussed ways the projects will be prioritized, and introduced several topic areas within the Action Plan, such as Vibrant Downtown, Robust Neighborhoods, Thriving Economy, Sustainable Environment, and Safe and Healthy Community. Staff emphasized that implementation of the Comprehensive Plan Update, when formally adopted by the Olympia City Council, will require a concerted effort from all points of the community. There was a question and answer period, and the meeting was adjourned at 8:10 PM. The report was received. 3.
