CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. ROLL CALL Present: 5 - Vice Chair Joshua Clark, Committee member Barbara Benson, Committee member Candace Jacobs, Committee member Kim Murillo and Committee member Rhonda Olnick Absent: 4 - Chair Maria Ruth, Committee member Kyle Guzlas, Committee member Rhianna Hruska and Committee member Brock Milliern 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 3.A 18-0957 Approval of September 20, 2018 Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes The minutes were approved. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT Bob Jacobs stated it would be a detriment to the LBA Woods if the future extension of Log Cabin Road was built through the park. 5. ANNOUNCEMENTS - Sylvana Niehuser has been promoted to fill the Parks Maintenance Manager position. - "Oly on Ice" skating rink will open mid-November at the Isthmus Park. 6. BUSINESS ITEMS 6.A 18-0983 Update on Sea Level Rise Planning in Olympia Water Resources Director Andy Haub updated the Committee on the status of the sea level rise planning effort. The draft report will be available in December for review, with adoption scheduled for February 2019. Mr. Haub reviewed the adaptation strategies for City of Olympia Page 1 Parks and Recreation Advisory Meeting Minutes October 18, 2018 Committee Percival Landing. The information was provided. 6.B 18-0984 Annual 2018 Park Evaluation Surveys Committee members reported on park surveys they administered. They gave a brief summary of what they heard and observed while at the park. The parks surveyed this year were: Grass Lake, Margaret McKenny, West Bay, Yashiro Japanese Garden, and Trillium.
