CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. 1.A ROLL CALL Present: 6 - Chair Maria Ruth, Committee member Barbara Benson, Committee member Kyle Guzlas, Committee member Brock Milliern, Committee member Kim Murillo and Committee member Rhonda Olnick Absent: 1 - Committee member Rhianna Hruska 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA The agenda was approved. 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 3.A 20-0165 Approval of January 16, 2020 Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes The minutes were approved. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT - None 5. ANNOUNCEMENTS The LBA Woods trail plan meeting was held last night. The meeting was well attended and there was a good discussion about the proposed plans. The Yelm Highway Master Plan public meeting will be February 27 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall. At this meeting the consultants will present three concepts for the park design. 6. BUSINESS ITEMS 6.A 20-0164 Oral Report - 2019-20 Oly on Ice Season Summary Recreation and Facilities Director Scott River presented a PowerPoint presentation summarizing the 2019-2020 Oly on Ice season. Members asked clarifying questions. The report was received. City of Olympia Page 1 Parks and Recreation Advisory Meeting Minutes February 20, 2020 Committee 6.B 20-0166 PRAC Member Survey Chair Ruth facilitated a discussion to solicit feedback from Committee members about their experiences on the Committee. There appeared to be a consensus that communication between staff and the Committee was still problematic with Committee members expressing frustration with continued difficulty accessing their City e-mail accounts. The other main topic of conversation centered around the feeling that the Committee hadn't had enough opportunities recently to provide input on important topics but rather was mostly being given informational briefings instead. Committee members were provided an opportunity to submit a written evaluation after the meeting and all input will be compiled into a combined document. The discussion was completed. 6.C 20-0167 Finalize Draft PRAC 2020-2021 Work Plan The Committee reviewed the draft work plan and amended it to include an item related to a welcome/orientation for new Committee members. Staff will make that change and forward the work plan as amended to the General Government Committee. The Committee directed staff to forward the amended work plan to the General Government Committee with a recommendation for approval. 7. REPORTS - None 8. QUESTIONS OF STAFF AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS It was requested that staff add to the "Upcoming" section of the agenda upcoming agenda items in addition to the upcoming meeting date. 9.
