1. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m.

2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA
The agenda was approved.
3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
3.A 22-0063 Approval of December 2, 2021 Parks and Recreation Advisory
Committee Meeting Minutes
The minutes were approved.
4. PUBLIC COMMENT
Bob Jacobs spoke.
5. ANNOUNCEMENTS
Last night's public meeting about Kaiser Woods Park is available on Engage Olympia.
An update on the Yelm Highway City Council Study Session will be on Tuesday, February
8, 2022. The Olympia School District and PRAC Chair Maria Ruth will attend via Zoom.

6.A 22-0060 Tumwater Brewery Foundation Letter of Support

Committee
Beth Doglio and Jim Kainber presented on the proposed new Cultural and Environmental
Center at Tumwater Falls Park. Chair Ruth will draft a letter of support.
The discussion was completed.
6.B 22-0059 Aquatic Center Feasibility Study Recommendation
Director Paul Simmons presented on the Aquatic Center feasibility study and asked for a
recommendation to proceed.
The recommendation was recommended for approval.
6.C 22-0061 Screening PRAC Applications and Recommendation
The Committee chose candidates A, B, C and D for recommendation to City Council.
There were no dissenters after discussion.
The discussion was completed.
6.D 22-0062 Draft PRAC Work Plan Review and Elect Chair and Vice-chair
Chair Maria Ruth was unanimously re-elected. Vice Chair Brock Milliern was
also unanimously re-elected.
7. REPORTS - None
8. QUESTIONS OF STAFF AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
PRAC will need to select an OMPD candidate for Barbara Benson's absence.
The City's Communication Office recommends that PRAC members not give comments
to the media.
Committee member Cearns asked how long PRAC members serve on the Committee.
Staff Liaison Keehan will check to clarify if it is 2 or 3 terms.

4. PUBLIC COMMENT
During this portion of the meeting, citizens may address the Advisory Committee or Commission
regarding items related to City business, including items on the Agenda. In order for the Committee or
Commission to maintain impartiality and the appearance of fairness in upcoming matters and to comply
with the Public Disclosure Law for political campaigns, speakers will not be permitted to make public
comments before the Committee or Commission in these two areas: (1) on agenda items for which the
Committee or Commission either held a Public Hearing in the last 45 days, or will hold a Public Hearing
within 45 days, or (2) where the speaker promotes or opposes a candidate for public office or a ballot
measure. Individual comments are limited to two (2) minutes or less.
REMOTE MEETING PUBLIC COMMENT INSTRUCTIONS:
Live public comment will be taken during the meeting but advance registration is required. The link to
register is at the top of the agenda. You will be given the choice to comment during the registration
process. After you complete the registration form, you will receive a link by email to log onto or call into
Zoom for use at the meeting date and time. If you plan on calling into the meeting, you will need to
provide your phone number at registration so you can be recognized during the meeting. Once connected
to the meeting you will be auto-muted. At the start of the public comment period, the Chair will call
participants by name to speak in the order they signed up. When it is your turn to speak, your
microphone will be
unmuted.
