CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 6:03 p.m. 1.A ROLL CALL Present: 9 - Chair Darren Mills, Vice Chair Ken Adney, Boardmember Sarah Adams, Boardmember Mary Corso, Boardmember Janis Dean, Boardmember Jo Gallaugher, Boardmember Ruthann Goularte, Boardmember Bobbi Kerr, and Boardmember Phil Rollins Excused: 2 - Boardmember David Rauh, and Boardmember Manuel Rincon 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Mary Corso asked to add the upcoming board elections to the agenda. Boardmember Corso moved, seconded by Vice Chair Adney, to approve the agenda as amended. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 9 - Chair Mills, Vice Chair Adney, Boardmember Adams, Boardmember Corso, Boardmember Dean, Boardmember Gallaugher, Boardmember Goularte, Boardmember Kerr and Boardmember Rollins Excused: 2 - Boardmember Rauh and Boardmember Rincon 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 3.A 14-0021 Approval of 12-12-2013 PBIA Board Meeting Minutes. Vice Chair Adney moved, seconded by Boardmember Rollins, to approve the minutes. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 9 - Chair Mills, Vice Chair Adney, Boardmember Adams, Boardmember Corso, Boardmember Dean, Boardmember Gallaugher, Boardmember Goularte, Boardmember Kerr and Boardmember Rollins Excused: 2 - Boardmember Rauh and Boardmember Rincon 4. PUBLIC COMMENT - None City of Olympia Page 1 PBIA Advisory Board Meeting Minutes January 9, 2014 5. ANNOUNCEMENTS Downtown Liaison Brian Wilson reported City Council approved additional funding for the Downtown Ambassador Program. The Clean Team will add one employee allowing for two teams of two - one to focus on daily tasks, one to focus on rapid response and graffiti. 6. BUSINESS ITEMS 6.A 14-0014 Advisory Committee Roles and Conduct Communications Manager Cathie Butler and City Attorney Tom Morrill provided background information on the PBIA and discussed board requirements . Other topics included board conduct, public record requirements, and meeting expectations. 7. REPORTS Clean and Safe Committee: The committee is planning a meeting with bar owners and bartenders to discuss cleanliness and safety issues. In addition, a Clean and Safe Committee meeting is planned for all downtown businesses. Partnership Committee: The Holiday decorating contest had 277 votes. Over 70 businesses participated. The winning business was Psychic Sister, second place was Belleza Ropa, and third place was Olyphant. 8. OTHER TOPICS Elections: Mr. Wilson reported that board member term expirations are not equally staggered. He suggested the Leadership Team discuss how to properly stagger terms at their upcoming meeting. Other Topics: Vice Chair Adney requested financial reports to be available at all board meetings .
