Oroville Planning Commission Wednesday, Sept 16, 2015 The meeting was called to order at 4:40 by Chairman Luis Perez. Present: Commissioners: Luis Perez, Arnie Marchand, Judy Dunston, Suzi Seger Alternate, Valorie Johnston; Absent: Marc Egerton Staff present: Chris Branch and Deanna Rowton. Approval of the minutes from the September 2nd meeting. Motion by Judy Dunston, second by Valorie Johnston, motion carried. Arnie Marchand reported that Les Schwab has changed ownership, effective Monday, Sept. 7th. Chris Branch asked if anyone saw anything in the comprehensive plan that they had questions about or edits they saw at this point. Judy Dunston asked about the necessity of inclusion of the maps for grading streets. She also had questions about the geometric cross section for new construction and reconstruction. Chris stated that is up to the commission on what is included, and there are options, such as placing items in the appendix. He also mentioned there should be “sub-area” plans, which show detail for particular areas. There was discussion regarding roadways and standards, particularly involving industrial areas and the Heavy Haul corridor. Chris suggested that the Comprehensive Plan should possibly include: a) prioritization of downtown sidewalks 2) sub-area plans and 3) trail systems. Chris explained the Commission can make the Comp Plan into whatever they desire, whether it be simplified, re-arranged, etc. There was discussion regarding the Housing Section and the inclusion of Tiny Houses and Bed and Breakfast facilities. Chris recommended each member look over the Housing section. The October 7th meeting has been cancelled. As there being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:35 pm. 1
