Oroville Planning Commission Wednesday, August 17, 2016 The meeting was called to order at 4:40 by Vice Chairperson Judy Dunston. Present: Commissioners: Chairman Judy Dunston, Suzi Seger and Valorie Johnston; Absent: Marc Egerton, Luis Perez and Arnie Marchand Staff present: Chris Branch and Deanna Rowton Approval of the minutes for the July 20th meeting was deferred until next meeting. In “Staff updates” Chris reported that there had been 2 hearings on the street vacation where the City had just annexed property at Bob Neil Road and Jennings Loop Road. There was testimony for both sides and the council voted to move forward with the street annexation. The Comprehensive Plan map was looked at and there was discussion regarding zoning and densities of the various areas. Chris reported that there is upcoming meeting planned to consider one of the recommendations of the International Joint Commission to form an “International Watershed Initiative.” It could draw resources to consider the flooding problem in Tonasket Creek, and possibly to do better at joint permitting among agencies that issue permits on Lake Osoyoos to keep people out of trouble with the agencies.
