Oroville Civil Service Monday, July 22, 2019 Meeting called to order at 4:30 by Richard Werner Present: Richard Werner, Joe King, Mike Sibley Others present: Cheryl Lemons, Chief Examiner Meeting called to order at 4:30. Joe King moved to approve the minutes from May 6, 2019, Mike Sibley seconded; motion carried. Discussion opened with the question why Chief Todd Hill had not shown up, as he was supposed to. Cheryl had asked Chief Hill the previous week to attend so that the committee could ask questions regarding the filling of the open position for a law enforcement officer. Cheryl had not been told he wouldn’t be able to make it, so the committee just proceeded. Richard Werner moved for Cheryl to see if Chief Hill could peruse the listing on our Public Safety Testing site for any changes that might encourage more applicants in the future. Cheryl to speak to Chief Hill the following day. Motion to approve from Joe King; Mike Sibley seconded, motion carried. Cheryl submitted a letter from Chief Hill regarding the fact that Kenneth Waddell would be leaving the force around August 15th to move to another state. Committee indicated that we would need to start running ads again for Entry Level and/or Lateral officers. Richard motioned to have Cheryl place ads the following week in the Gazette and Wenatchee World. Joe King seconded, motion carried. Mike made a motion to hold an Oral Board on September 28, 2019 if we had enough applicants by that time. Richard Werner seconded, motion carried. Motion by Joe King to end the meeting at 4:57. Richard Werner seconded, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 4:57.
