Oroville Planning Commission Monday, June 19, 2023 Commissioner Present: Arnie Marchand, Heather Marthaller, Jeff Bunnell, Suzie Seger, and Valorie Johnston Staff: Kurt Danison and Cindy Boyer Arnie called the meeting to order at 4:30, the minutes from the last meeting were approved with no additions or corrections. First on the agenda was the public hearing on the Shoreline Master Program Comprehensive and Periodic updates which amend the Oroville Comprehensive Plan by adding a new shoreline chapter and creating a new Chapter 18.04 Shorelines Management to the Oroville Municipal Code. Arnie read the disclosure on how the public hearing would be conducted and the public hearing commenced at 4:35. The Commission looked over the draft of the Shoreline Master Program and was satisfied with the updates. Arnie asked if there was a motion to approve the proposed amendments to the Comprehensive Plan and add a Shoreline Management Section, Heather made a motion to approve, and Jeff seconded it; and all approved. The next item of the public hearing was for the Commission to make a motion to propose an amendment to add a new shoreline Chapter 18.04 to the Oroville Municipal Code, Jeff made the motion to approve the new addition and Heather seconded it, and all approved. The recommendations will be sent to the Oroville City Council for their approval. No one from the public was present to add any comments so the public hearing was adjourned at 4:50. Kurt stated that Oroville will now have a chapter in the Municipal Code that references the Shoreline. The meeting was adjourned at 4:58.
