Oroville Civil Service Monday, April 28, 2025 Meeting called to order at 4:30 pm by Chairman Joe King. Present: Commissioners Joe King, and Dusti Giroux Secretary, Chief Examiner: Emily Finsen Others present: Chief Hirst Absent: Mike Sibley Approval of the March 24, 2025 regular meeting minutes. Motion by Dusti to approve the minutes, second by Joe, motion passed. Chief Hirst was present under scheduled appearances sharing with the commission that the lateral applicant that passed Oral Boards accepted a job elsewhere. He requested a Sergeant’s Exam be posted along with the newly scheduled Oral Boards. The Commission agreed, scheduling a new Oral Board for Friday, June 13th, 2025 to include a Sergeant’s Exam. The Commission scheduled a Special Meeting for Monday, June 9th, 2025 at 4:15pm to approve applications for Oral Boards scheduled for Friday, June 13th, 2025. The Commission thanked Chief Hirst in his continuous efforts to better the department then excused him for applicant reviews. Finsen presented the commission with a single application submission for review. The commission passed the application and tabled further discussion for the next meeting. Next Regular Civil Service meeting scheduled to be held Tuesday, May 27, 2025 due to Monday 26th being a holiday. As there being no further business, motion by Dusti to adjourn the meeting at 5:05 pm, second by Joe; motion carried.
