Finance Committee

PROCEEDINGS OF THE FINANCE COMMITTEE The Finance Committee of the Village of Oxford, Marquette County, Wisconsin met on Monday, May 8, 2023 in the Council Room of the Oxford Village Hall, 129 S. Franklin Avenue. The meeting was called to order by President Meyer at 10:00 AM. The following Committee Members were present: Loretta Drinkwater, Erwin Meyer, Gary Sorensen and Bart O’Brien (by speaker phone). Also in attendance were Trustees Carrie Rozek and Dennis Zacharias. Village Clerk Shannon McMullin was also present at 10:05 AM. President Meyer appointed Trustee Sorensen to take the minutes for this meeting. Motion made by Drinkwater/Sorensen to proceed with the agenda as printed. Motion carried. President Meyer announced that, per the agenda, a closed session is proposed to discuss employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility per Wis. Stat. § 19.85 (1)(c). Motion made by Drinkwater/O’Brien to proceed with item #3 on the agenda and move to closed session pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 19.85 (1)(c) for the purpose of considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Motion carried on a roll call vote with all committee members voting aye. The closed session per Wis. Stat. § 19.85 (1)(c) began at 10:07 AM. The Clerk was excused. Discussion took place regarding concerns with respect to the availability of the Clerk/Treasurer office to the public. Motion made by Sorensen/Drinkwater to reconvene in open session per Wis. Stat. § 19.85 (2). Motion carried on a roll call vote with all committee members voting aye. Per the agenda item 4, the Committee Meeting reconvened into open session at 10:45 AM. Attending were the same individuals as noted above with Trustee O’Brien present by speaker phone. Motion made by Drinkwater/Sorensen that per agenda item 5 the advertisement for the Deputy Clerk/Treasurer position be amended as follows: the cut-off date be changed from June 15, 2023 to June 9, 2023 and the start date be changed from August 1, 2023 to July 1, 2023.
