Finance Committee

PROCEEDINGS OF THE FINANCE COMMITTEE The Finance Committee of the Village of Oxford, Marquette County, Wisconsin met on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 in the Council Room of the Oxford Village Hall, 129 S. Franklin Ave. The meeting was called to order by President Meyer at 6:00 PM. The following Finance Committee Members were present: Loretta Drinkwater, Bart O’Brien, and Gary Sorensen. Also in attendance were Clerk-Treasurer McMullin, Deputy Clerk-Treasurer Maier, Carrie Rozek, and Dennis Zacharias. Motion made by Drinkwater/Sorensen to approve the agenda as printed. Motion carried. President Meyer announced that, per the agenda, a closed session is proposed to discuss employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility per Wis. Stat. § 19.85 (1)(c). Motion made by Drinkwater/O’Brien to move to closed session pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 19.85 (1)(c) for the purpose of considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Motion carried on a roll call vote with all present voting aye. The closed session per Wis. Stat. § 19.85 (1)(c) began at 6:04 PM to discuss employee wages for 2024 and other employee matters. Present were the Finance Committee Members, the Clerk-Treasurer McMullin, Deputy Clerk-Treasurer Maier, Carrie Rozek, and Dennis Zacharias. A review was made of proposed employee wages. The Clerk-Treasurer and Deputy Clerk-Treasurer were excused at 6:11 PM and discussion continued regarding employee wages for 2024 and other employee matters. Per the agenda, the Finance Committee reconvened into open session at 6:25 PM on a Motion made by O’Brien/Sorensen and a roll call vote unanimously in favor. Present were the Finance Committee members, the Clerk-Treasurer, the Deputy Clerk-Treasurer, Carrie Rozek, and Dennis Zacharias. No motions were made as a result of the closed session. The 2024 General Fund and Sewer Budgets were discussed to compile a proposed budget for presentation to the entire Village Board. Motion made by O’Brien/Drinkwater to forward the proposed 2024 General Fund and Sewer Budgets to the public hearing and full board on November 20, 2023. Motion carried on a voice vote with all voting aye. Motion made by Drinkwater/Sorensen to adjourn at 7:06 PM.
