Park & Recreation Committee

PROCEEDINGS OF THE Village of Oxford Park & Rec Committee The Park & Recreation Committee of the Village of Oxford, Marquette County, Wisconsin met in session at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 in the Council Room of the Oxford Village Hall. The meeting was called to order by Committee Chair Drinkwater at 6:00 pm. The following Committee Members were present: Chairman Drinkwater, Committee members: Meyer, Rozek, Zacharias and O’Brien. Also in attendance were Village residents Tom Wastart and Jason Zacharias, and Deputy Clerk-Treasurers Kimmie Kongslie and Amy Maier. Motion made by Rozek/Meyer to approve the agenda as printed. Motion carried. The committee prepared a proposed Village of Oxford entry to the Marquette County Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan. Two plans were recorded. One plan for the upgraded “Village of Oxford Park Utility Building” with community/family/handicap access bathroom and shelter, and one plan for the “Park Development at Oxford Lake” with a handicap fishing pier. The committee will recommend these two proposals to the Village Board at the March meeting. Discussion on the potential upcoming Grant Applications and use of the funds. The Grant Application due in May 2024 is the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Application for the Park Improvement project of the Park Utility Building. After lengthy discussion, motion by Rozek/Meyer to approve grant application and recommend to the Board for approval. Motion carried.
