Palmyra Police & Fire Commission Minutes Tuesday, December 12, 2023 Palmyra Village Hall 6:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order at 6:00pm by Chairperson Shellee Lubus. Roll call: Lubus, Stefanczyk, Bealhen, Dooley, Simmons - Present Guests – Public Safety Director Scott Pavlock and Deputy Fire Chief Derrick Hurley Motion by Dooley – second by Stefanczyk to approve minutes from Nov. 15, 2023 Business: Police and Fire Department update on policy, issues, and personnel Motion by Simmons – second by Bealhen to enter closed session. Roll call - All Ayes, motion carried. Closed Session Business: Discuss present and future needs and positions for the departments with Director Pavlock. Discuss Fire Department progress & issues and Police Dept. cross-training with Deputy Hurley. Motion by Simmons second by Bealhen to reconvene to open session. Roll call – All Ayes, motion carried. Outcome of business conducted in closed session: No further action is needed at this time. Motion by Dooley second by Stefanczyk to Adjourn. Roll call - All Ayes – motion carried. AGENDA Police and Fire Commission meeting Tuesday December 12, 2023 100 W. Taft St. Palmyra Village Hall 6:00 p.m. Call to Order Roll Call Business Approval of Minutes: Nov. 15, 2023 1. You are hereby notified that the Police & Fire Commission of the Village of Palmyra will meet on December 12, 2023 at the Village Hall meeting room, 100 W. Taft St. at 6:00 p.m. At said time and place the Commission will convene into closed session. 2. After the meeting has been properly convened, the Chairperson will announce to all those present the purpose of the meeting and the fact that the Commission intends to convene in closed session for the above-delineated purposes. Upon motion duly made and seconded and acted upon by the majority of the members present as required under §19.85(1)(a), Stats., the closed session will take place. 3. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Police & Fire Commission of the Village of Palmyra may convene, upon passage of the proper motion, into Closed Session with staff, pursuant to §19.85(1)(c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Specifically public safety department personnel matters and also specifically to discuss a current employee and candidate for a law enforcement position. 4. The Commission will then reconvene into Open Session for purposes of potential additional discussion and/or action on matters discussed in closed session and adjournment.
