Palmyra Police & Fire Commission Minutes Thursday February 20, 2024 Palmyra Village Hall 6:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order at 6:00pm by Chairperson Shellee Lubus. Roll call: Lubus, Stefanczyk, Bealhen, Dooley, Simmons - Present Guests – Deputy Fire Chief Derrick Hurley & Colin J. Slattery Motion by Dooley – second by Simmons to approve minutes from Jan. 11, 2024 Business: Discuss Police and Fire Department personnel issues and candidates. Motion by Dooley – second by Lubus to enter closed session. Roll call - All Ayes, motion carried. Closed Session Business: Discuss personnel issues and open positions with Deputy Chief Hurley about Fire & EMS staff. Interview candidate Colin Slattery for a full- time Firefighter/EMS position. Motion by Bealhen - second by Simmons to reconvene to open session. Roll call – All Ayes, motion carried. Outcome of business conducted in closed session: The commission approves and advances Colin J. Slattery for the full-time position of Firefighter/EMS to the Village Board. Motion by Dooley - second by Lubus to Adjourn. Roll call - All Ayes – motion carried. Submitted, Todd Bealhen, Commission Member

AGENDA Police and Fire Commission meeting Tuesday February 20, 2024 100 W. Taft St. Palmyra Village Hall 6:00 p.m. Call to Order Roll Call Business Approval of Minutes: Jan. 11, 2024 1. You are hereby notified that the Police & Fire Commission of the Village of Palmyra will meet on February 20, 2024 at the Village Hall meeting room, 100 W. Taft St. at 6:00 p.m. At said time and place the Commission will convene into closed session. 2. After the meeting has been properly convened, the Chairperson will announce to all those present the purpose of the meeting and the fact that the Commission intends to convene in closed session for the above-delineated purposes. Upon motion duly made and seconded and acted upon by the majority of the members present as required under §19.85(1)(a), Stats., the closed session will take place. 3. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Police & Fire Commission of the Village of Palmyra may convene, upon passage of the proper motion, into Closed Session with staff, pursuant to §19.85(1)(c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Specifically updates on the Public Safety Department personnel matters and also specifically to conduct interviews for a full time Firefighter position. 4. The Commission will then reconvene into Open Session for purposes of potential additional discussion and/or action on matters discussed in closed session and adjournment.
