SPECIAL VILLAGE BOARD MEETING
Thursday July 3, 2025
Village Hall

6:00 P.M.
The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by Village President Tim Gorsegner. Roll call:
Ball, Deichl, Petruska, Gorsegner, Smith, Tucker, Wallace- present
New Business
A. Petruska/Tucker motion to convene into closed session at 6:01 pm pursuant to State Statute
19.85(1)(c) Considering employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation
data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises
responsibility. Specifically, the Public Safety Director’s position. Roll call vote: Ball,
Deichl, Gorsegner, Smith, Petruska, Tucker, Wallace-aye. Motion carried.
B. Smith/Ball motion to convene in open session at 6:56 pm pursuant to §19.85(2), Stats., for
possible additional discussion and action concerning any matter discussed. Roll call vote:
Ball, Deichl, Gorsegner, Petruska, Smith, Tucker, Wallace-aye. Motion carried.
Petruska/Wallace motion to recommend to the Police and Fire Commission to post the
position for Police Chief instead of Public Safety Director. Roll call vote: Ball, Deichl,
Gorsegner, Petruska, Smith, Tucker, Wallace-aye. Motion carried.
Wallace/Smith motion to not pay for Chief Pavlock’s health insurance between July 14 and
Sept. 1, 2025. Roll call vote: Ball, Deichl, Gorsegner, Petruska, Smith, Tucker, Wallace-aye.
Motion carried.
Smith/Petruska motion to adjourn at 7:00 pm. All ayes-motion carried.

A. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Village Board of the Village of Palmyra may convene
into closed session pursuant to State Statute 19.85(1)(c) Considering employment,
promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of any public employee over
which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. Specifically, the
Public Safety Director’s position
B. You are further notified that at the end of the Closed Session, the Board may convene in
open session pursuant to §19.85(2), Stats., for possible additional discussion and action
concerning any matter discussed.
Adjournment
This is the agenda for the 7/03/25 Village Board meeting as of June 30, 2025
and is subject to modification prior to said meeting pursuant to the Wisconsin Open Meetings

may be taken in an order other that which appears here, and that the Village Board may choose
to take action on any item listed on this agenda except topics brought up under department
reports, committee reports and public input. It is possible that members of, and possibly a

meeting to gather information. No action will be taken by any governmental body at the above
stated meeting other than the governmental body specifically referred to in the above notice.
