CALL TO ORDER/TERRITORIAL LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Committee Chairperson Wiedeman called the meeting to order at 9:02 a.m.
On behalf of the Committee, Chairperson Wiedeman offered the following
Treaty 6 lands acknowledgement:
We acknowledge that we are on Treaty 6 lands today, we also acknowledge
the efforts of our previous ancestors and farmers that farm the land before us
and made Parkland County the success that it is.

A motion was made by Committee Member Kowalski that the June 20, 2023

Proposed Motion
That the June 6, 2023 Governance and Priorities Committee Meeting Minutes
be adopted, as presented.
A motion was made by Committee Member Kucher-Johnson that the June 6,
2023 Governance and Priorities Committee meeting minutes be adopted, as
presented.
The motion carried unanimously.
CELEBRATING SUCESS
Laura Swain, Chief Administrative Officer, recognized and highlighted ways in
which Parkland County staff have significantly contributed to the response of
the wildland fires within Parkland County and, more recently, the assistance
provided to Edson who is responding to flooding in some areas. Administration
expressed their recognition and gratitude to Trent Tompkins and Glen Dawes
who went above and beyond to assist Edson.

Proposed Motion

Municipal Government Act to meet in private to discuss matters protected
from disclosure by Sections 16, 17, 21, 23 and 24 of the Freedom of
Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
A motion was made by Committee Member Hoefsloot that the Committee
convene in closed session at 11:03 a.m. pursuant to Section 197 of the
Municipal Government Act to meet in private to discuss matters protected from
disclosure by Sections 16, 17, 21, 23 and 24 of the Freedom of Information and
Protection of Privacy Act.
The motion carried unanimously.
