Whose ancestors have walked this land since time immemorial. We are grateful to work, live and learn on the traditional territory of Treaty 6. Mayor Gamble offered a sincere thank you to former Deputy Mayor Wiedeman for his service during his four month term and welcome Councillor Hoefsloot to his term as Parkland County's Deputy Mayor. A motion was made by Committee Member Kucher-Johnson that the June 20, 2023 Governance and Priorities Committee meeting minutes be adopted, as presented. The motion carried unanimously. Committee Chairperson Hoefsloot asked the gallery if there were any issues that the public wished to bring to the attention of Parkland County. No one came forward. Kyle Schole presented the North Saskatchewan Heritage River Designation presentation. The motion carried unanimously. RECESS Chairperson Hoefsloot recessed the meeting at 9:41 a.m., and reconvened the meeting at 9:53 a.m. Councillor Kobasiuk was absent when the meeting reconvened. A motion was made by Committee Member Kucher-Johnson that the Rural Municipalities of Alberta Contact Newsletter be received for information, as presented. The motion carried unanimously. COM 23-075 Federation of Canadian Municipalities Update Proposed Motion That the Federation of Canadian Municipalities Update be received for information, as presented. A motion was made by Committee Member Kobasiuk that the Federation of Canadian Municipalities update be received for information, as presented. The motion carried unanimously. CLOSED SESSION RECESS Chairperson Hoefsloot recessed the meeting at 10:39 a.m., and reconvened the meeting at 10:50 a.m. RFD 23-202 Closed Session Proposed Motion That the Committee convene in closed session pursuant to Section 197 of the Municipal Government Act to meet in private to discuss matters protected from disclosure by Sections 17 and 24 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. BUSINESS ARISING FROM CLOSED SESSION PRE 23-050 1:00 p.m. - Appointment - O2 - MDP Governance and Future Planning FOIP Section 24 - Advice from officials A motion was made by Committee Member Mayor Gamble that the O2 MDP Governance and Future Planning item be tabled to a future Governance and Priorities Committee meeting. The motion carried unanimously.
