MAYOR’S OPENING REMARKS: Mayor Mason recognized the one year anniversary of City Manager, Julian Jackson. Mayor Mason also recognized the hard work that the Downtown Development Authority has done. MINUTES: MOTION TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE SEPTEMBER 17, 2013 SPECIAL CALLED MEETING AND THE REGULARLY SCHEDULED COUNCIL MEETING. REPORTS and PRESENTATIONS: Mayor Mason presented Mr. Zack Young with a Proclamation of the City of Peachtree Corners, recognizing and congratulation him for his dedicated years of service to Wesleyan. Mayor Mason informed the public that Judge Barrett was sworn in on September 26, 2013. Community Development Director, Diana Wheeler, provided her report on staff activities that occurred during September 16, 2013 through September 27, 2013. These activities included, among other items, meeting with Waste Pro regarding fence repair and maintenance, meeting with permit software representatives, and preparing reports for the Downtown Development Authority meetings. NEW BUSINESS: ACTION ITEM Consideration of Alcoholic Beverage License Application for Marco’s Pizza #8171 located at 5270 Peachtree Parkway, Suite 106, Peachtree Corners, GA 30092. Applicant is Kevin Billings for Consumption on Premises Wine and Malt Beverage License. MOTION TO APPROVE THE BEVERAGE LICENSE APPLICATION FOR MARCO’S PIZZA. By: Council Member Lowe Seconded by: Council Member Gratwick Vote: (7-0) (Lowe, Gratwick, Mason, Sadd, Wright, Aulbach, Christopher) Approved, Attest: ___________________________________ __________________________________ Mike Mason, Mayor Kymberly Chereck, City Clerk (Seal) 2013-10-01 Council Meeting Minutes Page 3 of 3 STATE OF GEORGIA CITY OF PEACHTREE CORNERS RESOLUTION 2013-10-21 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PEACHTREE CORNERS, GEORGIA IN SUPPORT OF A LIVABLE CENTERS INITIATIVE (LCI) NEW STUDY FUNDING APPLICATION FOR A STUDY ENTITLED: PEACHTREE CORNERS TOWN CENTER WHEREAS, the new City of Peachtree Corners recently completed its first Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, this Comprehensive Plan document identified specific areas of significant importance that require further, in-depth analysis; and WHEREAS, the area surrounding Peachtree Parkway between Medlock Bridge Rd. and Spalding Drive has been identified as the new City’s Central Business District; and WHEREAS, the Town Center will serve as the Central Business District’s focal point and the new City’s hub; and WHEREAS, the Atlanta Regional Commission requires a Resolution of support from the local governing authority where the grant is to be implemented; and WHEREAS, the New LCI Study: Peachtree Corners Town Center, seeks to obtain funding in the amount of $120,000, of which the City of Peachtree Corners will be responsible for $24,000 or 20% of the total grant; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Peachtree Corners, Georgia, that the City endorses the submittal of the New LCI Study Area application for the Peachtree Corners Town Center to the Atlanta Regional Commission.
