Hopefully our residents will see them patrolling our streets very soon. Village Trustee McGreal – A quick reminder that the Council of the Arts is holding an outdoor movie night in Wolfs Lane Park on October 19 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. They are working with the Chamber of Commerce; it should be a great event! Village Trustee Mohan – absent. Village Trustee Otondi – nothing to report. Village Trustee Solomon – A happy Yom Kippur to all that celebrate! October is Pedestrian Safety Awareness month. A thank you to all residents who have been slowing down a bit while driving throughout the Village. Deputy Mayor Carpenter – nothing to report. Item # 5 - Village Administrator’s Report: Communications have been sent out regarding the revised garbage schedule due to the holiday. All the information can be found on our website, pelhamny.gov. Fall Leaf Collection is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 15th, at this time ONLY leaves can be placed at the curb. Any other organics must be bagged. Village Board of Trustees Regular Meeting Tuesday, October 8, 2024 Item # 6 - Mayor’s Report There will only be 3 more Mayor and Board of Trustee meetings taking place in the current Village Hall. Item # 7 - Public Comments No public comment. Village Board of Trustees Regular Meeting Tuesday, October 8, 2024 Non-Recurring Items Item # 8 – Resolution Appointing Village Clerk Whereas, Sarah LoPuzzo, by letter dated July 9, 2024, and effective July 9, 2024, submitted her letter of resignation as Village Clerk and Registrar of Vital Statistics for the Village of Pelham. Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Pelham hereby confirms the Mayor’s appointment of Adriana Rugova of Yonkers, NY, to the position of Village Clerk and Registrar of Vital Statistics pursuant to the provisions of New York State Village Law § 4-402 and Public Health Law § 4121, effective Monday, October 7, 2024, at an annual salary of $80,000.00 subject to a one-year (1) probationary and the requirements of Westchester County Civil Service and the Village of Pelham Employee Handbook; and Be it further resolved, that the Village Administrator is authorized to take the necessary and appropriate actions to affect this promotional appointment. Also, back in June, Village Trustee Solomon had discussed having materials for new residents including important information in the Village. He suggested creating a section on the website to house all that information and include a PDF that residents can download. Another recommendation was possible sending out a postcard or fridge magnet with important phone numbers via mail. Village Board of Trustees Regular Meeting Tuesday, October 8, 2024 Recurring Items Item # 11 - Authorizing Accounts Payable Village Trustee Otondi is auditing the Accounts Payable. Whereas, pursuant to § 5-524 of the New York State Village Law, the Board of Trustees shall audit all claims against the Village. Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Pelham after audit of the following vouchers, authorizes payment for services rendered and materials received, for the following items that have been submitted to the Treasurer's Office for payment and authorized by the Village Administrator/Treasurer and Deputy Village Treasurer: Fund Name: Amount General Fund (A) $ 143,222.68 Capital Projects Fund (H) $ 629,166.39 Trust & Agency (T) $ 675.00 Private Purpose Trust Fund (TE) $ 0.00 Grand Total $ 773,064.07 Be it further resolved, that the Village Board of Trustees hereby approves payment of the above- mentioned claims and authorizes payment thereof.
