CITY OF PELICAN RAPIDS CONTINUED EMERGENCY MEETING-10-20-04
The City Council of the City of Pelican Rapids met in continued emergency session
at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, 10-20-04, Council Chambers, City Hall, 315 N. Broadway.
Mayor Wayne Runningen, Council Members Ben Woessner, Denise Magnusson
and David Gottenborg were present. Council Member John E. Waller, III, was
absent. Clerk-Treasurer Glenys Ehlert and Street and Park Superintendent Tom
Soberg were also present.
Meeting reconvened at 4:30 p.m., by Mayor Runningen. Subject of meeting is soil
issues at Public Works Garage site.
Mayor Runningen reviewed recommendation from David Shultz of Shultz Torgerson
Architects. Schulz recommendation is to have some material excavated and re-
compacted and to remove unsuitable material and replace with new. Egge
Construction said their best case estimate would be $19,200 and worst case
estimate of $27,400. Egge could start next week depending on weather and should
complete within three days. Other estimates were higher per unit item. Other
companies all had next week as first possible start date. Shultz recommended
accepting bid from Egge Construction.
Shultz said Northwest Technologies, Inc. will be here to test soils while work is
accomplished.
Motion by Woessner, seconded by Magnusson to accept the low bid of Egge
Construction for excavation and fill at site for Public Works Garage. Motion passed
unanimously.
