MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
MAYOR’S YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE HELD ON
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2017 IN THE TOWN COUNCIL CHAMBERS
LOCATED AT 1360 N. NIELS HANSEN LANE, LAKESIDE, AZ 85929
A. Call to Order: Chairman Bailee Babbitt called the meeting to order
At 6:55 a.m.
Pledge of Allegiance: Bailee Babbitt led the Pledge of Allegiance.

B. Minutes:
Chairman Babbitt moved to approve the following minutes:
Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee Regular Meeting September 14, 2017
The motion was seconded by Historian Bratsch and was carried with an 8-0 voice vote.
C. Old Business:
C.1 Discussion/Legal Action Regarding MYAC Survey
Council discussed revisions of survey and voted on certain corrections:
Historian Bratsch moved to approve the revisions for:
2017 MYAC Survey for Community
The motion was seconded by Chairman Babbitt and was carried with an 8-0 voice vote.
C.2 Discussion regarding the Town Event “Trunk or Treat” Scheduled for
Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Mountain Meadow Park.
Community Services Manager Williams confirmed with the council that there will be two
separate costume contests at the event. Council then further discussed details of costume contest,
rules, etc.
C.3 Discussion Regarding “Cool Runnings” held on September 23, 2017 at
Woodland Lake Park.
Community Services Manager Williams informed the council that there was an increase
in the number of sign-ups, but that many people quit due to weather. The event should be held
again September 29, 2018.
C.4 Discussion Regarding the Town Event “Community Bonfire” held on
September 21, 2017
Community Services Manager Williams informed the council that there was a mediocre
turn out and council discussed further improvements.
C.5 Discussion Regarding the Northern Arizona Council of Governments
(NACOG) Tourism Forum Scheduled for October 11 through 13, 2017 at Pinetop
Country Club
There was no discussion.
D. New Business:
D.1 Discussion/Legal Action Regarding Christmas Child Sponsorship
Community Services Manager Williams opened discussion, and members
discussed present drop off. Historian Bratsch suggested that in sponsoring a child or family,
MYAC should give items such as coats, school supplies, etc. Council discussed having change
boxes set up at Walmart, Eddie's Country Store, and/or the Country Clubs. Council decided to
fund raise from November 15 to December 15 of 2017.
Chairman Babbitt moved to approve the fund-raising for and doing of:
Family Christmas Sponsorship for 2017
The motion was seconded by Member Joseph West and was carried with an 8-0 voice vote.
E. Public Comments:
Chairman Bailee Babbitt called for public comments.
No comments were offered.
F. Adjournment:
There being no further business at this time, the meeting was adjourned at 7:36 a.m.
