MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
MAYOR’S YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE HELD ON
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2018 AT
PINETOP-LAKESIDE TOWN HALL LOCATED AT
325 W. WHITE MOUNTAIN BLVD., LAKESIDE, AZ 85929
A. Call to Order: Chairman Nate Campbell called the meeting to order
At 7:05 a.m.
Pledge of Allegiance: Nate Campbell led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Vice-Chairman West moved to approve the following minutes:
Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee Regular Meeting August 9, 2018
The motion was seconded by Treasurer Goode and was carried with a 9-0 voice vote.
C. Old Business:
C.1 Discussion and Approval of FY 2018-2019 Goals, Priorities, Special Projects,
and Fundraising
Committee decided to move C.1 to be with D.2.
D.1 Financial Report and Update on Funds Raised for Jack Barker Memorial
Park Project
Recreation Coordinator Malaina Spillman informed committee that at that current point
in time, they had raised $1,051.13.
D.2 Review and Discussion of Arizona League of Cities Conference.
Committee members that attended reported that the conference was overall good.
Recreation Coordinator Spillman told committee story she had heard at conference about the two
men that started the Radar program. Committee discussed implementing the Radar program at
Blue Ridge High School. It would cost $800 per year approximately and committee discussed
partnering with relentless athletes and SADD club.
D.3 Review, Discussion, and Legal Action regarding Internet Fundraising
Platform
Recreation Coordinator Spillman informed committee that the GoFundMe.com website
was the best value with a $0 platform and a 2.9% + $0.30 rate.
Treasurer Goode moved to approve the following:
Setting up a GoFundMe account as a part of the Mr. Kean Memorial at Jack Barker Park
fundraising and promoting it via social media and other ways.
The motion was seconded by Member Bratsch and was carried with a 9-0 voice vote.
D.4 Review, Discussion, and Legal Action Regarding Fundraising at Movies in
the Park on September 15, 2018
Committee discussed selling hot chocolate, sodas, popcorn, candy, and other classic
concessions. They also decided to be there at 6:45 pm for the event at 7:30 wearing their official
MYAC polo shirts.
Historian Rapaz moved to approve the following:
Purchasing concessions for the Movies in the Park on September 15, 2018.
The motion was seconded by Vice-Chairman West and was carried with a 9-0 voice vote.
D.5 Discussion Regarding Volunteering at Cool Runnings on September 29, 2018
Committee discussed that the registration was at 7:00 am, the 10k started at 7:30 am, and
the 2k started at 7:45 am. Committee then decided to be at the event at 6:30 am wearing their
official MYAC shirts and help at registration and wherever else they were needed.
D.6 Discussion and Legal Action Regarding Possible Fundraisers during Fall
Festival.
Committee discussed selling hot chocolate at registration, but decided that they didn’t see
much potential in the situations, so they unofficially voted against it.
E. Public Comments:
Chairman Nate Campbell called for public comments.
No comments were offered.
F. Adjournment:
There being no further business at this time, the meeting was adjourned at 7:59 a.m.
