MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE MAYOR’S YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE HELD ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2018 AT PINETOP-LAKESIDE TOWN HALL LOCATED AT 325 W. WHITE MOUNTAIN BLVD., LAKESIDE, AZ 85929 A. Call to Order: Chairman Nate Campbell called the meeting to order At 7:06 a.m. Pledge of Allegiance: Nate Campbell led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: The following members were present: Keala Bratsch Member Josiah Goode Treasurer Olivia Everingham Member Rebekah James Secretary Skyla Rigg Member Arrived at 7:13 Elizabeth Rapaz Historian Joseph West Vice-Chairman Nate Campbell Chairman Landon Rigg Member Arrived at 7:13 Also present: Malaina Spillman Recreation Coordinator Stephanie Irwin Mayor Keith Johnson Town Clerk B. Minutes: Historian Rapaz moved to approve the following minutes: Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee Regular Meeting September 13, 2018 The motion was seconded by Vice-Chairman West and was carried with a 7-0 voice vote. C. Old Business: C.1 Discussion and Update on Jack Barker Memorial Park Construction. Recreation Coordinator Spillman reported that most of the grass was in, the benches and trees were ordered, and the plaques had not been ordered yet, but she gave details on what they would be like they will be 3x6 acrylic. Committee decided that they wanted to discuss and vote on the words for their plaque during the November meeting. D. New Business D.1 Financial Report and Update on Funds Raised for Jack Barker Memorial Park Project. Recreation Coordinator Malaina Spillman informed committee that they had raised $1,669. The price of the apple trees is $130, the bench is $980, the pacers are $100 each, and the plaques are $15 each. D.2 Discussion and Brainstorm on next MYAC project. Committee discussed implementing the RAADR program at Blue Ridge High School. It would cost about $800 per year and committee discussed partnering with SADD club, Site Council, and Student Council. Committee decided to bring the Blue Ridge High School, Jay Cox, to the November regular meeting. Also, they created a subcommittee with the members who went to the league conference to talk to staff at Blue Ridge High School. D.3 Review and Discussion on Upcoming Events Recreation Coordinator Spillman informed committee of the Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 27, 2018. Committee decided to help. They will be showing Hotel Transylvania 2 and 3, have three costume contests, and will have games at some of the trunks. Recreation Coordinator Spillman then announced the Christmas Tree Lighting would be held on November 30, 2018. E. Public Comments: Chairman Nate Campbell called for public comments. No comments were offered. F.
