MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE MAYOR’S YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE HELD ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2018 AT PINETOP-LAKESIDE TOWN HALL LOCATED AT 325 W. WHITE MOUNTAIN BLVD., LAKESIDE, AZ 85929 A. Call to Order: Chairman Nate Campbell called the meeting to order At 7:04 a.m. Pledge of Allegiance: Nate Campbell led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: The following members were present: Josiah Goode Treasurer Skyla Rigg Member Elizabeth Rapacz Historian Joseph West Vice-Chairman Nate Campbell Chairman Landon Rigg Member Also present: Malaina Spillman Recreation Coordinator Stephanie Irwin Mayor Keith Johnson Town Manager B. Minutes: Treasurer Goode moved to approve the following minutes with the correction of Keith Johnson Town Clerk to Keith Johnson Town Manager: Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee Regular Meeting October 18, 2018 The motion was seconded by Vice-Chairman West and was carried with a 6-0 voice vote. C. Old Business: C.1 Discussion and Update on project RAADR. Chairman Campbell tasked the committee comprised of Olivia Everingham, Ela Rapacz and Joseph West to start working on a presentation that would be reviewed and discussed at the December 13, 2018 Regular Meeting. The committee was also tasked with discussing the project with SITE Council and eventually to Blue Ridge Administration. D. New Business D.1 Discussion and Legal Action for Christmas Tree Lighting. Recreation Coordinator Malaina Spillman informed committee the Christmas Tree Lighting will be on November 30th and asked who could commit to assisting at the event as elves. Member West, Member Bratch and Member Skyla Rigg were all going to be there for Choir performance and offered to assist in another capacity as they will be in their Choir uniforms. Members Goode, Rapacz, Everingham, Landon Rigg and James volunteered to be Elves assisting Santa! Recreation Coordinator Spillman requested that they be at the lighting by 5:00pm. A motion was made by Member Goode to approve MYAC’s assistance at the Tree Lighting on November 30, 2018. The motion was seconded by Member West and carried unanimously by voice vote 6-0. D.2 Discussion and Legal Action for language on Mr. Kean Plaques. Chairman Campbell reminded the committee the size of the plaques and that there will be one for the bench and one for the apple tree at Jack Barker Memorial Park. Several options were discussed and a motion was made by Chairman Campbell to approve “Our beloved teacher Thomas Kean, Mayors Youth Advisory Committee 2018” as the language for the plaques for Mr. Kean memorial project located at Jack Barker Park. The motion was seconded by Member West and carried unanimously by a voice vote 6-0. D.3 Discussion and Legal Action for purchase of bench, apple tree and plaques for Mr. Kean Memorial at Jack Barker Park. Recreation Coordinator Spillman informed committee the purchase prices for the bench, apple tree w/ mulch and 2 plaques were as follows:  $1,200.00 - Bench to be purchased from Exerplay  $106.17 - Apple Tree w/ mulch to be purchased from Christopher’s Garden  $30 plus tax – Plaques to be purchased Member Goode made a motion to approve the purchase of one bench, one 5-in-1 apple tree and two plaques for a total not to exceed $1,500.00. The motion was seconded by Member West and carried unanimously by a voice vote 6-0. D.4 Review and Discussion on upcoming events. Recreation Coordinator Spillman reminded committee of the Christmas Tree Lighting on November 30, 2018, as well as informed the committee of City of Show Low Christmas Light Parade on December 1, 2018. Manager Johnson invited the committee to attend the Town Hall Open House and Ribbon Cutting on December 12 at 4pm. E. Public Comments: Chairman Nate Campbell called for public comments. No comments were offered. F.
