MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE MAYOR’S YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE HELD ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 10, 2018 IN THE PINETOP-LAKESIDE TOWN HALL LOCATED AT 325 W. WHITE MOUNTAIN BLVD., LAKESIDE, AZ 85929 A. Call to Order: Chairman Nate Campbell called the meeting to order At 7:01 a.m. Pledge of Allegiance: Nate Campbell led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: The following members were present: Keala Bratsch Member Olivia Everingham Member Rebekah James Secretary Skyla Rigg Member Elizabeth Rapaz Historian Joseph West Vice-Chairman Nate Campbell Chairman Landon Rigg Member Also present: Malaina Spillman Recreation Coordinator Stephanie Irwin Mayor Keith Johnson Town Manager B. Minutes: B.1 Vice-Chairman West moved to approve the following minutes: Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee Regular Meeting November 8, 2018 2018 The motion was seconded by Member Bratsch and was carried with an 8-0 voice vote. B.2 Vice-Chairman West moved to approve the following minutes: Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee Regular Meeting December 13, 2018 2018 The motion was seconded by Member Bratsch and was carried with an 8-0 voice vote. C. Old Business: C.1 Review and Update on Upcoming Events Recreation Coordinator Spillman informed the committee of the Winter Fest on February 9, 2019, the Chili Cook-off with free hot air balloon rides also on February 9, 2019, and of the town Easter Egg Hunt on April 20, 2019. D. New Business D.1 Presentation of RAADAR to Blue Ridge High School Principal, Rebecca Fraze Vice-Chairman West presented his powerpoint on the RAADAR project. Principal Fraze asked questions about presentation to the school, overall funding, and the process of implementation. The committee informed her of the free assembly the Relentless Athletes put on, the plan for fundraising, and discussed an appropriate assembly to present at. Principal Fraze told the committee that she felt that the program would help the school and to start going to the school board and possible funding contributors. Committee thanked Principal Fraze for coming. D.2 Discussion and Legal Action on project RAADAR Committee discussed implementing RAADAR and joining Site council and SADD Club. Mayor Irwin and Town Clerk Johnson told committee that they would prefer MYAC to keep moving forward and start the process of approving the program. Vice-Chairman West moved to approve the following: All action toward implementing the RAADAR program at Blue Ridge High School. The motion was seconded by Secretary James and was carried with an 8-0 voice vote. E. Public Comments: Chairman Nate Campbell called for public comments. Keith Johnson thanked the council for doing an outstanding job at the Christmas Tree Lighting on November 30, 2018. F.
