MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE MAYOR’S YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE OF THE TOWN OF PINETOP-LAKESIDE, ARIZONA, HELD ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 14TH, 2021 – 7:00 A.M. TOWN HALL – 325 W. WHITE MOUNTAIN BLVD, LAKESIDE, AZ 85929 AGENDA A. Call to Order: ➢ Chairman Landon Rigg called the meeting to order at 7:04 a.m. ➢ Pledge of Allegiance; Chairman Landon Rigg led the Pledge of Allegiance. ➢ Roll Call; Present Members: Landon Rigg Chairman Quinton Lawler Vice Chairman Shayla Grzelak Secretary Grace Smithson Treasurer Parker Rigg River Rigg Morgan Eddy Also Present: Stephanie Irwin Mayor Keith Johnson Town Manager Malaina Spillman Assistant To Public Works Director B. Consent Agenda: B.1 Minutes of MYAC meeting held on October 14th, 2021. ➢ Member Lawler moved to approve the following minutes. The motion was seconded by Chairman Landon Rigg, and was carried with a 7-0 voice vote. C. Old Business: C.1 Discussion Regarding Serving Lunch at Pinetop-Lakeside Senior Center. ➢ The senior center has temporarily closed due to roof damage after the storm. Therefore, MYAC Members will not serve lunch at the senior center this month. Malaina will call the senior center and ask if any help is needed from the MYAC members. C.2 Review and Discussion Regarding Upcoming Events. ➢ The “Wall That Heals” will be in town from October 28th-October 31st. It will be available for viewing twenty-four hours a day. Anyone willing to volunteer is welcome. ➢ The town is putting on a “Trunk-or-Treat” in the parking lot of Blue Ridge High School on October 30th. Times will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. MYAC members are encouraged to attend. Get there at 4:00 p.m. to help pass out candy and dress up. ➢ There will be the annual Christmas Lighting this year held at Jack Barker Park. There will be two weekends of Santa and hot chocolate. MYAC members are encouraged to attend and dress up as elves. More information regarding the Christmas Lighting will be discussed at the next meeting. C.3 Discussion Regarding FY21-22 Goals and Priorities. ➢ Malaina challenges MYAC members to find something for the committee to take on and accomplish. ➢ MYAC members are planning on talking to the new high school counselor about how they can help with struggling students. For example, comfort kits. ➢ The holidays are coming up. MYAC members need to decide if they would like to do any drives this year. Food drive? Toy drive? ➢ “Shop with a Cop” is coming up. The police departments will pick applicants to get toys for. MYAC members are highly encouraged to participate in “Shop with a Cop”. C.4 Discussion Regarding MYAC Participation in Town Council Meeting. ➢ MYAC members decide on a day to attend an official Town Council Meeting. As of now, they are planning on attending a meeting on November 18th. The Town Council Meeting will be at 6:00 a.m. D. New Business: E. Public Comments: ➢ Chairman Landon Rigg calls for any comments. ➢ The Mayor thanks MYAC members once again for attending and helping with the 9/11 flags at Jack Barker Park. F.
