June 27, 2017 – 7:00 p.m.
Special Called Meeting
The Pinson City Council met in Council Chambers at 4410 Main Street on Thursday, June 27,
2017. Mayor Sanders led the invocation. Councilor Tanner led the Pledge of Allegiance to the
Flag of the United States of America.
Roll Call: Marie Turner, City Clerk, called roll of Pinson City Council with the following
council members present:
Mayor Sanders
Councilor Tanner
Councilor Galamore
Councilor Churchwell
Councilor McCain
Absent:
Councilor Roberts
Mayor Sanders mentioned there will be a Going Away reception for Keith Eggleston, Library
Aid, on July 6, 2017, from 5:30-6:30.
Councilor McCain offered a resolution concerning an ADA Coordinator and Procedure,
regarding Bob Jones. Councilor Galamore duly seconded the motion. Mayor Sanders called for
any discussion. As there was no discussion, Mayor Sanders called for a roll call vote with the
following results:
Mayor Sanders-yes; Councilor Tanner-yes; Councilor Galamore-yes; Councilor Churchwell-yes;
Councilor McCain-yes.
Mayor Sanders, resolution passes unanimously as, Resolution 17-41.
Mayor Sanders mentioned an Auction to be held by ALDOT, and asked if council was interested
in participating. Mayor Sanders stated an item of interest is Control Boards/Message/Directional
Boards which run $8,000-$12,000 new. Mayor Sanders added, Bob Jones has found a
refurbished one for $4,000.
Councilor Churchwell offered a motion to forego the ALDOT Auction. Councilor McCain duly
seconded the motion. Mayor Sanders called for any discussion. As there was no discussion,
Mayor Sanders called for all opposed to say "no", all in favor say "aye." Mayor Sanders" Let the
record reflect the motion passed unanimously."
Councilor McCain offered a motion to enter executive session to discuss real estate. Councilor
Galamore duly seconded the motion. Mayor Sanders called for any discussion. As there was no
discussion, Mayor Sanders called for all opposed to say "no", all in favor say "aye." Mayor
Sanders" Let the record reflect the motion passed unanimously." Mayor Sanders stated we will
not reconvene other than to adjourn.
Mayor Sanders called council out of executive session.
Councilor Tanner moved to adjourn. Councilor Churchwell duly seconded the motion. Mayor
Sanders called for all opposed to say “no”, all in favor say “aye”. Motion carried.
Adjourned at 5:35 p.m.
