Council Minutes May 31, 2018 – 6:00 p.m. Special Called Meeting The Pinson City Council met in regular session in Council Chambers at 4410 Main Street, on Thursday, May 31, 2018. Roll Call: City Clerk, Marie Turner called roll of Pinson City Council with the following council members present: Mayor Sanders Councilor Galamore Councilor Churchwell Councilor Roberts Absent: Councilor Tanner Councilor McCain New Business: Councilor Galamore offered a resolution concerning property at 6219 Kaley Lane, at a cost of $5,000.00. Councilor Roberts duly seconded the motion. Mayor Sanders called for any discussion. As there was no discussion, Mayor Sanders called for a roll call vote on the main resolution with the following results: Mayor Sanders-yes; Councilor Galamore-yes; Councilor Roberts-yes; Councilor Churchwell- yes. Mayor Sanders, resolution passes unanimously as, Resolution 18-20. Councilor Churchwell offered a motion to authorize demolition of 6219 Kaley Lane, at a cost of $5,000-$10,000. Councilor Roberts duly seconded the motion. Mayor Sanders called for any discussion. As there was no discussion, Mayor Sanders called for all opposed say “no” all in favor say “aye”. Mayor Sanders, “Let the record reflect the motion passed unanimously”. Councilor Roberts offered a motion directing the Mayor to purchase 2 parcels from the Alabama Department of Revenue, located on Kaley Lane and Powell Avenue, at a cost of $200.00. Councilor Galamore duly seconded the motion. Mayor Sanders called for any discussion. As there was no discussion, Mayor Sanders called for all opposed say “no” all in favor say “aye”. Mayor Sanders, “Let the record reflect the motion passed unanimously”. Councilor Churchwell offered a motion approving the purchase of used furniture at a cost of $2,620.00. Councilor Roberts duly seconded the motion. Mayor Sanders called for any discussion. As there was no discussion, Mayor Sanders called for all opposed say “no” all in favor say “aye”. Mayor Sanders, “Let the record reflect the motion passed unanimously”. Mayor Sanders offered a quote in the amount of $1,245.00, to replace 2 Tumble buckets at the Splash Pad. Mayor Sanders, “Let the record reflect, there was no objection from council for purchase”. Mayor Sanders announced the movies to be shown at Bicentennial Park in June. June 1st Ferdinand; June 8th The Greatest Showman. Councilor Roberts offered a motion to delay action on the 2” meter upgrade at Bradford Park due to budget consideration. Councilor Galamore duly seconded the motion. Mayor Sanders called for any discussion. As there was no discussion, Mayor Sanders called for all opposed say “no” all in favor say “aye”. Mayor Sanders, “Let the record reflect the motion passed unanimously”. Councilor Roberts moved to adjourn. Councilor Churchwell duly seconded the motion.
